Response from the owner Gillian, thanks very much for your review, I am very pleased you enjoyed your holiday. With regards the dog, as you know we have no close neighbours however Christian (the house manager) visited the few houses down the lane to track down the mystery dog. Having found the house in question it turns out that the dog was a Labrador visiting with family for the week and not a permanent resident. The owners explained that the dog is excitable but not aggressive and apologised for not ‘dog proofing’ their garden during its short stay. I hope this sets your mind at rest. Bergerie Provencale, in the Luberon valley between Roussillon and Joucas, is exactly what we wanted: comfort, peace and quiet, good private pool, and location. It is very well appointed and properly managed by Christian. Excellent and sensibly priced restaurants abound, many places of interest to visit, and very little traffic. We strongly recommend this villa, but not to the extent that we are unable to secure a booking next year!
