Description
An idyllic location in the hills with an expansive view across the Mediterranean ocean, this villa offers privacy, unspoiled views, easy access to lots of beaches and it is a dream for cyclist and walkers alike! All but one of the 5 bedrooms look directly onto the sea with the remaining bedroom having a lovely private terrace area which also benefits from the view. All the rooms, upstairs and down, are light and airy and there is plenty of space for sunbathing even when the villa is at full occupancy. The infinity pool is situated a couple of steps below the villa which also allows for all guests to enjoy the villa without being on top of each other. The view from the pool is superb and a real feature of the house. There is also a large boules pitch providing guests with a distraction from sunbathing and also the chance to engage in some healthy competition!
The kitchen is well equipped with everything you could need including hob, double oven, huge fridge/freezer, dishwasher, double sink. There are two sets of double doors leading from the kitchen - one overlooks the sea, and the other faces the terrace. The view from the terrace is of woodland on one side and the sea and pool on the other. There is also a utility room equipped with a new Bosch washing machine and a second fridge/freezer. There is also an ironing board, spare light bulbs etc. and portable clothes drying equipment.
The villa is only a short walk from rough and ready cycle and hiking tracks which offer an excellent opportunity to explore the surrounding area. The villa is situated half-way between Nice and Marseilles in a village called Le Rayol-Canadel. It is about 20 miles from St Tropez and the coastal road has magnificent views from Le Lavandou to Cavalaire.
The village of Rayol Canadel has everything, from a small supermarket, boulangerie, boucherie, delicatessen, hairdressers post office chemist, doctor's surgery and a restaurant, the Maurin des Maures.
There is a weekly market in the village on Friday. In St Tropez the market is held on Tuesday and Saturday, in Cavalaire on Wednesday, in Le Lavandou on Thursday and in a lovely village called Cavaliere on Monday. The nearest beach, Rayol, is about a mile and a half away, but there are several other beautiful beaches, Canadel and Cavaliere being the closest, St. Clair and Le Lavandou about four miles and the wide beach of Cavalaire with a beautiful port and shops about three miles away.
The Jardin Botanique in Rayol itself is a wonderful garden to visit and concerts are held there regularly. Concerts are also held, in the beautiful villages of Gassin and Ramatuelle. Both villages are close to St. Tropez.
In addition to the botanical gardens and the markets, there are many vineyards to visit, where wine tasting is obligatory! The Isles d'Hyeres which face the villa are beautiful islands to visit and can be reached by boat from either Cavalaire or Le Lavandou. They are tranquil islands, no cars allowed, but you can hire bicycles on Porquerolles which is the largest island.
There is an office de Tourisme in the village, where you will find a wealth of information, from walks in hills above the villa to the many events which take place during the summer. There is also cycling, horse riding, tennis and golf.

The villa is very airy and spacious with the kitchen, lounge and dining room all facing the sea. All but one bedroom faces the sea, three having balconies and one its own separate terrace. It is totally open plan. The utility room leads out to the terrace and has iron, washing machine and dryer. Master bedroom with en suite and double bed.Two further bedrooms with double beds, one with ensuite shower room. Further bedroom with two single beds. Please note that all bathrooms have showers only and not a bath. Large family room with double bed and bunks.

The outside of the villa is very large having three levels. One level for al fresco dining with a large terrace outside the dining room which has recently been decked to enlarge the area for sun beds.The next level is the swimming pool with large terrace and below this is a further terrace with a boules pitch. There is also a table tennis table.
