Description
Lying at the foothills of the Luberon, 'La Loubiere' is surrounded by beautiful countryside, in the 10 acre grounds of a 16th century chateau, yet just 20 minutes from Aix en Provence. An ideal base for exploring the beautiful markets and villages of the Luberon. Guests have their own fenced pool (12m x 6.5m) with views of lavender, and the thyme and rosemary covered hills. There is unlimited access to the hard tennis court, which was resurfaced in 2017 and is shaded by trees in the grounds of the chateau . It is also a perfect base for hiking, mountain biking and horse riding with its proximity to the Durance River and the Luberon hills.
Each of the three houses have been lovingly restored by the owners, to provide modern facilities, whilst retaining the character and original features of the old buildings, with stone walls, beams and tiled floors. The interiors are furnished to a high standard with beautiful fabrics, bed linen and towels.
Each house has its own private outside area, so they can be let independently or together, accommodating up to twenty people comfortably. An ideal location for extended families and large groups of friends, the layout of the houses means that guests can enjoy being together, whilst benefiting from the space to escape and relax on their own, from time to time. There is free satellite internet.
'La Grange' (5 Bedrooms/4 bathrooms, Sleeps 10)
The barn has been renovated to enhance the charm of the old farm buildings and decorated in a rustic, Provencal style. The vast beamed living area (120 sq.m./1000 sq.ft.) comprises large comfortable sitting area and huge open fireplace; a dining area and a large well equipped kitchen. It is ideal for large groups. The raised terrace has wonderful views of the pool and surrounding countryside, a perfect spot from which to watch the sun set, with a glass of wine of local wine.
'Les Platanes' (2 Bedrooms/ 1 bathroom, Sleeps 4)
This lovely stone cottage has been restored and is tastefully decorated, whilst retaining many original features. The private south facing terrace is perfect for 'al fresco' dining or BBQs. There are views of the surrounding park, pool area and fields beyond.
'Sebastian's House' (3 Bedrooms/2 bathrooms, Sleeps 6)
This house has been restored to retain its charm and character, with tasteful decoration. Built in to rock, this house can be a haven from the high summer temperatures. It has a private west facing terrace, with adjacent parking and its own driveway.
Prices range from 1,050 - 2,900 euros per house per week.
