We found this lovely holiday gite through French Connections. Florence (the owner) was very helpful and responded quickly to emails before our visit.
It is very remote and hard to find, but Florence arranged to meet us in Entrecasteaux so we could follow her to the gite. If you are driving your own car, be warned, the road to the gite is very steep, rocky and uneven.

It's a really lovely converted farm building with a great pool (bigger and deeper than you usually find in these small places). The terrace is the perfect place to relax in the sun or shade, with plenty of comfortable seating. We spent most of our time either relaxing in the sun or cooling off in the pool.

Inside the well equipped gite it was spacious and cool. There is air conditioning if you need it which I expect you do in the height of summer. Everywhere was very clean and we found everything we needed during our stay. Florence provides a lovely welcome gift of chilled champagne and other treats - a very nice touch. There are plenty of towels, clean linen, bin liners and all the other little things that you usually have to buy locally. The only thing we had to buy was our food - she even supplied us with bottled water which was great.

Var is a lovely area to explore with lots of interesting places to visit. In Florence's welcome pack she provides lots of useful information for her guests. All of her restaurant recommendations turned out to be spot on. We had some lovely meals at some of the restaurants she suggested. Tourtour in the evening is a must, as is the little restaurant behind the chateau in Entrecasteaux. Another definite "must see" is the gorge at Verdon - breathtaking.

A wonderful week of relaxing in the sunshine - thank you Florence, we will be back I'm sure.

This is an excellent - and rare - property at the edge of town, in the woods, for a couple to enjoy without paying for empty bedrooms. The pool is a delightful way to cool off after a walk in the woods that surround you. There is a short-cut (ask Flo to tell you how to find it) and you can easily walk in to Enrecasteaux, where there is a sprinkling of food and drink options. By car you are within easy reach of Cotignac and Lorgues - as well as many other nice villages. A day trip down to the coast is easy.

The property is clean, well-organised and packed with everything you could need. Flo makes good use of Google translate and other ways to get over the language barrier, if you don’t speak much French (as we did not), and that is not an issue. A couple can spread out, cook, relax in different areas that work for different times of day - barbecue, lounge by the pool or relax in the generous seating area indoors.
