A beautiful and wonderfully relaxed villa, tastefully furnished with great living space , and a lovely old style kitchen with character! Works very well as offers separate wings to stay in. Large wild garden with a lovely pool, plenty of parking behind security gates which offer peace of mind. Located outside tourrettes but easy to get to all nearby villages including St. Paul de Vence.
Our guests included our daughter in her 20's, who flew in from London and could be easily collected from Nice airport, and my mother who is 85 and was even able to enjoy a swim in the pool!!

First of all, the villa, garden and pool are soooo beautiful! Very Provence with lots of mature olive trees, lemon and bay trees in the yard, and grapes on the fence - yum! We cooked with the herbs in the garden too. The house is light and airy with lots of space for everyone, felt luxurious. Bathrooms very nice and big kitchen with all the tools. It was just warm enough still in October to use the pool, luckily! Great quiet spot not far from Tourrettes village. The village is picture perfect too, very cute with an excellent wine bar The Cave overlooking the gorge. Also went to another wine bar that was open on Sundays - it is next door to Clovis. Handy to know! Went on day trips to Monaco, Nice, the beach at Antibes and Grasse. I took Alain Ducasse's book on Provence and went to an olive farm near Tourrettes that he recommended. Bought some olive oil from the lovely farmers and they have us a sample of their new season olives and their homemade orange wine. Great villa for a group of friends and it would be also great for families. Lene was great from the start of the booking to the end. She met us at the villa and explained everything. She was very helpful and lovely. Highly recommend! Will stay again

We were given a very warm welcome from the lovely Lene when we arrived at this spacious 'farmhouse' with a traditional feel. Villa Des Olivers immediately gave us a taste of medieval France to dovetail perfectly with the charming village of Tourettes Sur Loup. Thick stone walls, a large open plan living room paved with old flag stones through out, the house was cool and airy even on the hottest days. Old church beams and neat reclaimed period features are everywhere which all together enhanced the feel, making it seem as if we were staying in an old farmhouse, but with all the mod cons.

We looked forward each day to spreading out plates of local cheeses, pates and a large tomato salad on the outdoor dining table accompanied by a couple of bottles of Rose of course, while the kids explored the garden and jumped about in the pool.

It's in a quiet spot, a brisk and uphill 15 minute walk away from the village. It was so relaxing to sit by the pool with a book and let all the stresses of work melt away. The garden has many beautiful old olive trees giving shade when sitting doing nothing in the sun got just too hot.
We love a bit of beach too so afternoons saw us making the easy 30 minute drive down to the Promenade des Anglais to do a bit more nothing in the sea. Day trips to Monaco to oggle the rich and famous, Antibes to take in bigger yachts and the old town were easily made.
We BBQ'd in a couple of nights but mostly made use of the many fantastic resturants Tourettes has to offer. Our favourites were Cave Du Vin, Clos de Marquis, Resturant Epecerie and Cafe Rouge - we didn't need to try the michelin starred Clovis. I was glad of the morning walk up to get the fresh croissants for breakfast!

Although the bedrooms are large and airy, the resident mosquitos meant sleeping with the windows open at night wasn't possible. every room did have a fan and there was plenty of mossie repellent in the kitchen drawers. Maybe mesh could be fitted?? Expect, too, a fairly hefty cleaning bill supplement at the end of your stay.

Holidays in France are never bad but i felt we have had one of the best this year in Villa Des Olivers and Tourettes Sur loup

Upon arrival we were greeted by the agent who was fantastic - a very warm welcome and good tour of the villa and its grounds, to show us how everything worked including wi-fi passwords etc. The villa was exceptionally tidy and we were genuinely blown away with how beautiful the whole place was.

We were three families in total and my wife, my daughter and I were the first family to arrive. Over the course of the first day the other two families arrived and it was such a joy to see their beaming faces as we showed them around this fantastic holiday home!

You arrive at the villa down a very private track and enter through an electric gate for which there are two remote keys. There is ample space in the forecourt for three to four cars and once the gate is shut, the villa and grounds are like a fortress - we had no worries about letting the kids wonder around the grounds as it is securely fenced off all the way around the perimeter.

You enter the villa into an incredible open plan diner and lounge, the floor throughout is stone tiles and the villa is very solid with a contemporary yet wonderfully French theme.

There are two large classic style french doors with shutter doors on the outside, in fact every door and window in the main villa has this. To the right of the dining room there is a huge kitchen (the pics on here don't do this room any justice) with everything you need, pretty much everything you would have in your own home. The fridge freezer is a large American style unit, great if you are a big group, which we were and it suited us fine. To the rear of the kitchen at the back corner of the house there is a large table for 10 people (more if required), on a raised stone terrace overlooking the garden.

The bedrooms were all clean, modern, fresh, roomy and very homely as were all the bathrooms/toilets. As three families we all effectively had our own 'wing' which meant we all had privacy and weren't on top of each other all of the time.

To the rear of the property is where the magic continues! Stepping out from either the lounge or dining area there is the most magnificent garden with mature provencal trees, plants and bushes which really is quite breathtaking!

A larged stone flagged area opens up into a lawn which surrounds a large pool (10M x 5M approx) with six wooden sun loungers at either side, on a flagged pool surround. There are three large parasols which help shelter from the 30 degree heat in this amazing sun trap. The pool easily accommodates 10 people and we had plenty of fun in there over the course of our two week stay. The pool is cleaned once a week (Friday) which is also a bonus and it can be lit up on a night if you haven't had your fill through the day!

In the basement there is a huge space and a utility washroom with sink which is very useful.

To the side of the villa, the 17C annexxe offers another large double bedroom with en-suite.

The villa and its grounds are truly stunning and in a fabulous location. I would suggest you hire a car if not driving to the region, as it is a little out of the way, however only 1km to the beautiful village of Tourrettes sur Loup which is stunning. The coast is about 10 - 15km away via mainly country roads.

This is a great location to explore the Cote d'Azur from but equally if you would prefer to kick back at the villa and in the village bars and restaurants with its fab scenery, then you won't go far wrong! I know everyone in my group would like to stay here again someday and I can highly recommend Villa les Oliviers! Bon voyage!

P.S. Lene (pronounced Lena), the agent, is very helpful and answered all my email questions promptly.
