Recently returned from a weeks stay at Can Boto. We were met by the family who own the property and shown around. First impressions were that it was a beautiful property which proved to be correct. All the furnishings and outdoor furniture appeared to be new - everything was in great condition. The house was spotlessly clean and well appointed. Given that it is a stone house it meant that we hardly ever used the aircon. The house is surrounded by fields and the only "neighbours" we could see were the sheep and the chickens! There is a chicken run on the property - it was great to open the kitchen window in the morning and see them! The owner of the house came early every morning - while we were still in bed!- to water the plants and collect the chickens eggs. It was lovely to go outside in the mornings as he would leave us fresh eggs every day as well as fruit and vegetables from the farm. We had a problem with the cooker while we were there one day - however a call to the owners resolved this and it was fixed within a couple of hours. The property is on the outskirts of Manacor and is only around a 10 minutes drive to stock up there at the supermarkets. The resorts of Cala Millor and Porto Cristo are only around a 20-25 minutes drive away. You definitely need a car for staying here. I would stress that Can Boto is the sort of place that you would go to for peace and quiet which really suited us - there was only two of us there. The only slight "gripe" I have about the property was that whilst it was wonderful it was completely bereft of "basics" such as salt/pepper/sugar/kitchen roll, etc so perhaps think of this before you get your shopping. In all other Majorca properties we've rented there was always basics there - just a suggestion! We left all of our foods and kitchen rolls so hopefully the next occupiers were able to use this. As I said this was only a small gripe and in no way lessened our enjoyment of the property. So for a couple or for friends looking for some quiet in the country, I would not hesitate in recommending Can Boto!
