“A villa of two halves”
This villa has six bedrooms split across two floors, three on each. Each floor is self contained and can only be accessed from the outside. The top floor is lovely and has air conditioning. There is a fantastically well equipped kitchen (although we had a little trouble getting all the hobs rings to light, but a minor inconvenience), very comfortably appointed with a great sitting and dining area. The master bedroom is very nice with an ensuite and air conditioning. The other two rooms are not quite so comfortable and only one of them has air conditioning. There is a gorgeous terrace with an amazing view and a large table with plenty of seating so our party of 11 could eat alfresco every meal. There is also a fun and quirky bar area with BBQ and hot plate. The gardens are lovely and the pool is a fantastic size. The ground floor is not so comfortable. It is much more basic and humble. There is no air conditioning and it is also a little musty. The bedrooms are basically furnished but comfortable enough but there are only a couple of fans for three rooms. It did get hot and a bit airless in there during our stay. However this villa would suit very happily three families with teenage children (like us) where the kids can have the ground floor apartment and us adults the more comfortable upstairs. I think because there is such a large discrepancy between the standard of accommodation that it would be tricky working out who was sleeping where if you were a party of all adults who were paying an equal share. Because of the bed configuration you can get 6 adults in the upstairs apartment and up to nine people in the ground floor one as one room has a double and bunk beds, another a double and single bed and the third just a double. I would not recommend housing so many in the ground floor though! Practicalities aside, we loved our stay here and Javea itself is a fantastic holiday destination.
