We had quite a bit of trouble finding the right apartment so were happy to find this one which was a really good size in a fairly good location with bars,restaurants and shops all in reasonable walking distance but that's where the positives end. We were instructed to phone the owner/agent when we landed to arrange delivery of the key but after several attempts no one answered so decided to make our way to the apartment anyway. On reaching the apartment we tried again and finally got through to someone who sent a lady to let us in, she barely spoke to us and literary just handed us the key promptly left. We were given no instructions whatsoever about the apartment other than told the smaller key opens the gate to the pool which we later found out could only be accessed via the road resulting in us having to exit the building via the main door and walk down the street a few yards before unlocking a gate to enter the pool area.... very inconvenient! There was no information left for us to familiarise ourselves with the local area, no emergency numbers, no information on the fire drill or fire escapes, and only one key to the building. The kitchen had enough glasses and crockery to host a banquet but very little in the way of cooking equipment and there wasn't a single sharp knife to cut any meat of veg which made self catering extremely difficult and everything we used had to be washed first as all the glasses,crockery, cutlery and equipment were filthy! There were two bathrooms both of which had no windows,vents or extractor fans which made showering about as refreshing as a Swedish sauna. We were only provided with two half used toilet rolls, one towel each and one sheet on each bed to last the whole week! We weren't aware that there would be no housekeeping provided so extra sheets,towels and toilet roll wouldn't have gone a miss. Before booking this accommodation I specifically asked if air con was provided, I was told there was non but there were fans in the apartment.... that was a lie! We had to sleep with every window and door open as the apartment was like a sweat pit and this resulted in us not having a single complete nights sleep for 7 nights as we were regularly woken up at all hours by barking dogs in the next building, cars pulling up outside and drunk people shouting down the street...not to mention the bin men!! The door to the double bedroom only opened a third of the way before it got jammed on the floor which meant you had to slide sideways to gain entry to the room... very awkward! So there you have it.... a very disappointing apartment which is a real shame as it wouldn't take much to make it great.
