“Lovely holiday villa”

Reviewed 13 Aug 2016

We had a lovely holiday in this villa. The location is fantastic, a few minutes walk from a few small beaches, with views of the sea from the upper terrace. The shops and restaurants are also close by though the street the villa is on is very quiet. It is a large rambling villa with multiple terraces and sitting rooms so lots of space for large family groups. The Annex has two rooms, sitting room and kitchen - our three teenagers stayed there renaming it "the big brother house" and loved the independence. The pool is a good size, with excellent barbecue. The kitchen is not big or particularly well equipped but we managed to cook meals for 9 most evenings without trouble. We were happy we booked this villa our holiday.

“Great location but dated villa”

This villa is in a perfect location. It is moments walk from the best beach in Cala Dor and 2 minutes walk from the shops and restaurants. Unfortunately we were disappointed with the condition of some aspects of the villa considering the cost. The kitchen in particular is awful. It is dark and smells very damp and musty. We usually enjoy cooking on holiday but we spent as little time as possible in this kitchen. The two downstairs bedrooms also smell very damp and musty. The swimming pool and garden area however are wonderful, and the living room and two upstairs bedrooms are nice. If you are looking for a luxury villa I would not recommend staying here as it is tired and in need of renovation. I would not recommend this villa to a friend unless the kitchen was replaced.

“This villa needs improvement before I'd stay here again”

If you are looking for 4 star accommodation do not stay here. I've stayed in a lot of villas in Cala D'Or including no. 12 in July this year which is a few doors up from this villa (no. 26) the different in standards is vast but unfortunately the difference in price is not so I'd recommend you stay at no. 12 for an excellent holiday We arrived to find the cleaner and her friends using the pool. Once inside the villa disappointment quickly set in. The first issue being the damp smell and the second the kitchen. There were plates, cups, glasses & cutlery which clearly had not been washed properly before being put away ' this included dried on food on some plates & hot chocolate residue in some mugs. On went the dishwasher so I could make a cup of tea. I emailed the company and they sent a cleaner (not the pool lady) the next day who did a full clean, she apologised repeatedly. Next air con in one bedroom was leaking to the extent that it soaked the curtains & floor. Men came several times & it was usable by the Wednesday. Other niggles - only double bed is in the smallest room upstairs, rest are all twins, safe locked & man sent to fix, no air con in main lounge which made room unbearable to sit in, no TV service man sent to fix, no hairdryer in the whole villa, never had that before but one was delivered next day. There also appears to be an underground well in the middle of the house which is accessed via a cupboard in the kitchen. Issue here was the noise of rushing water which if sleeping in ground floor bedrooms is a problem even with the doors closed. Wifi worked but only in upstairs lounge If you are still reading the villa does have good points. It's in an excellent location with a lovely sea view from the (hot) lounge. It's a 2 minute walk to the beach, restaurants & supermarket. The swimming pool & outside areas are lovely & well maintained. All the bathrooms seem to have been replaced recently and were all clean and of a good standard. I would suggest to the owners if you want renters to pay the 4 star prices you ask you need to update the kitchen, put air con in the main lounge & sort out the well. Putting a large double bed in the main bedroom downstairs would help

“Lovely airy villa”

This was a great place for a party of 10, 4 of which were young children. We also had the annex which was great. The garden was huge, plenty of space for the kids to run about and the pool was good and well maintained by the pool man. All in all this was a lovely villa and we had a lovely time. My only gripe is that the beds were very hard, not very comfortable, the dishwasher didn't work so well and we had to buy bin bags and loo rolls, I thought these would have been supplied by the cleaners.
