“Beautiful, quiet villa in a beautiful part of spain”
We had a great holiday in Javea, in June, staying at Casa Broadfern. The villa is a few minutes drive into the hills above Javea, surrounded by woodland. Although it's only a very short way from some restaurants and shops, there's only one house next door and so the garden is perfectly private and peaceful. The pool is beautiful and even in June was a perfect temperature. The garden beyond the pool has some shady spots with a hammock and sun loungers, perfect to take a doze on a warm afternoon. But perhaps the nicest part of the villa is the veranda at the side/rear of the property. There's a dining table there and we ate all of our meals there, including breakfast. It's a lovely place to wile away the evenings too - and as the sun sets, there are two or three resident geckos to watch eating flies, which were fascinating. Our party consisted of three generations of family, including a 2 year old and a 9 month old. There are gates and fences so the pool area is sectioned off so we didn't have to worry about the children getting too close. The villa is without doubt the best equipped and cleanest holiday accomodation I've ever stayed in. The kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, plates cutlery and glasses - and sharp knives (something of a rarity). The TV has UK satellite channels, which might interest some, and the wireless internet works very well. The owner, Paddy, is extremely helpful and kind, and went far above what we expected to make our holiday perfect. We would definitely stay here again.
