We stayed in August 2017, it being our first time to Ibiza and first time going ‘self-catering.’ Friends getting married on the island being the primary reason for our visit to Ibiza this year and so we rolled our annual family holiday into the same trip.
Having this villa as a base for both the wedding event and our holiday home for our family of four plus two grandparents for the fortnight was superb!
Sandra and Edward, the owners, were there to give us a warm greeting at the property on arrival and give us the tour of the property and point out essentials like locations of outdoor light switches, how to operate cooking equipment etc. A lovely touch by them both to have a few essentials and enough food left in the fridge (and a few beers) to have a meal that evening so that we and the children could swim and relax after our journey, rather than make a trip to the local supermarket.
Sandra & Edward visited the following week to change bedding, towels and did a general clean and tidy, this went above and beyond what we had expected – as the grandparents had joined us that same day after a very early flight from Devon we stayed within the grounds whilst Sandra and Edward went about these tasks, although we must have held them up as we kept stopping to chat about the upcoming wedding, their extensive time in Ibiza, places to visit, their grandchildren etc. We really could not imagine meeting, a nicer couple of people.
The Villa itself was in a great location for access to San Antonio and the surrounds without being too close to the centre; we made day-trips to beaches all over the island.
Supermarkets were easily accessible by car nearby – one of our party has Coeliac Disease and the local supermarkets had a multitude of Gluten Free products available, which put our minds at rest on our first run to the shops.
The property is very spacious, we had 4 adults and 2 children at the peak of our holiday and the accommodation really felt like a home from home, which is not surprising since this is the owners own home in the off-season.
A real highlight is the large pool for the size of the accommodation, our children loved being able to roll out of bed and jump straight into the pool, not to mention late night swims with the pool lights on – something they couldn’t do within the confines of a hotel.
As we loaded our bags into the car to leave our ‘holiday-house’ our youngest had to have a cry, which pretty much sums-up how much she loved her stay.
Great villa, great Landlords (Edward & Sandra), great Wedding = Great Holiday!
Thanks
Tom
