I have travelled to Bali many times but this was my first stay in a Villa. Location was good except the lane way outside the villa was used as a toilet for the neighbourhood dogs. Also the outside day beds were used as litter trays by the local cats which made them all smell like urine. By the end of the second day one of the boys noticed there was money missing from his wallet which had been locked away in one of four safes in the villa. Upon checking, the rest of us were missing money too. The amount totalled AU$1250. We notified Vilorium (the booking agent) and we got the police involved, which cost us a day of our holiday spent at the police station. The management did little to nothing to assist, instead leaving all the responsibility to the young villa manager. The CCT footage showed that only us and the staff had entered the villa, though the police cleared them of any blame. It was very difficult to enjoy the rest of our stay as we were constantly concerned for the security of our personal belongings. The police investigation is still ongoing but i don't hold much hope of a favourable outcome. A good will gesture from Vilorium in the way of a partial refund to cover our loss would be welcomed. Back to hotels for me and my mates from now on.
