        <p itemprop="description">This is an excellent, large traditional villa which is close to beach, Finns Beach Club, shops and supermarkets. It has incredible art work, both indoors and out.
The introduction to the property was really cool and very informative. We were even offered a tour of the villa complex. Plus we were presented with complimentary VIP passes to Finns Beach Club, the use of our own car for free for 8 hours per day (we just needed to pay for the petrol), and a complimentary massage every day - which was amazing apparently! (I don't like massages personally).
The rooms are large and spacious and the property has an excellent indoor / outdoor flow. A fabulous large pool and a small dipping pool.
There are two rooms set back from the main house, and one room even had a private pool! The property is more in Cangu than in Semiyak, but there are some arts, crafts and clothes shops nearby.</p>

        <p itemprop="description">We’re on our last day here at Villa Double N Estate.  I’ve gone to leave a review and just read a recent review about bad service and bad management which really surprised me.  Nothing could be further from the truth from our experience so I don’t understand how someone could say this.  Craig and the team have been amazing, the villa is a paradise, so big with beautiful gardens.  It’s very quiet yet close to superb places to eat, the beach, activities, shops, etc.  The staff are so nice and friendly and work so hard.  We had a wedding anniversary celebration dinner and drinks 2 days ago which was a great success and enjoyable for all.  I recommend the chef’s fish BBQ, so delicious.  We’ve used the nearby Finns Beach Club a lot.  The only slight problem we had was an AC breaking but this was fixed the same day and at the airport we had a slight delay with our pick up but that was partly our fault for waiting in the wrong location.  Overall, I really recommend it and you won’t be disappointed choosing this villa.</p>

        <p itemprop="description">We stayed here early Nov 2017 with large family group and friends, we had an amazing time!  We all love Bali and all loved this great villa estate, staff and fantastic service.  We’ve stayed in many villas in Bali and this was the best so far.  

Booking was really easy, Craig was really helpful.  Being greeted at the airport was so nice, and the pick-ups and drop-offs went very smooth.  Thank you so much to the villa staff, who couldn’t do enough for us. The chef’s food was simply amazing, better than some of the restaurants we to when we went out!  Our driver was so friendly and knowledgeable, we even used him for extra hours over and the above the standard 8 hours at a little extra cost.  

The villa is very close to a great beach with loads of cool bars and it’s also near some delicious restaurants and cafes.  The Platinum Memberships for all our group of both Finns Rec Club and Finns Beach Club were a real bonus and used lots!  We were all very sad to leave but we’ll be back here next year for sure, can’t wait!</p>

        <p itemprop="description">When rating a villa or hotel, it's the small details and attention to service that make the difference between a good and bad experience. Villa Double N offered NO attention to detail and the team of staff were very friendly, but the service was absolutely terrible. The staff were responsive to all our requests, but most of these requests - like replenishing toilet paper in a bathroom - I would not expect we needed to ask for this each day. Every day of our 4 night stay we had to ask for them to fulfil simple requests which we'd expect the villa staff were trained to perform as part of their job. This is the fault not of the friendly Balinese staff, but a villa manager who does not train his staff properly. 

The staff were all friendly, however the chef and all housekeeping staff were very inexperienced and took no initiative at all to provide good service. They needed to be micro managed and it was obvious they had zero hospitality experience. I would rate the service as 2-star at best. 

The positives? The driver was lovely. Smart guy, efficient, courteous. The woman who came to offer the complimentary massage was also great - one of the best massages I've ever had. 

The negatives? Below are just some of the dozens of small issues we experienced.

Arrival transfers
*We were a group of 10 guests and our arrival transfers were handled poorly. The vehicles were dirty inside and out, albeit the arrived on time. One group in our party did not have enough space for he number of guests and suitcases even after I specifically reminded the villa manager that we had a lot of baggage and they still didn't send enough cars. This was fixed buy finding a taxi for the extra bags, which the villa paid for. 

*The other arrival transfer was sent to the wrong airport terminal - again, not the fault of the friendly driver, but the Villa manager who had zero attention to detail and forgot to tell the driver about my arrival instructions that said it was the domestic terminal, not international terminal. So we waited around 20 minutes for the driver who again, did not have enough space in the vehicle for our luggage so we ordered and paid for our own extra taxi for the extra luggage. 

Room amenities
*When we arrived two of the bedrooms did not even have soap in the ensuite bathrooms. We had to ask for this. The 'amenities' as advertised on their listing consisted of 1 or less threadbare, grey-ish bath towel per guest, shampoo and bath gel. No hand towels, no conditioner, no face washers were provided. Only 2 of the 4 bedrooms had a hairdryer.

Housekeeping staff
* The daily housekeeping did NOT ONCE replenish the drinking water in the bathroom which is necessary as you cannot drink from the tap in Bali. Nor did they replenish toilet paper during their daily housekeeping service during our 4 night stay. We had to find the toilet paper ourselves in the staff cleaning cupboard.

*The staff also couldn't seem to count. The first night they set the table for dinner for 8 guests. We told them we have 9 adults plus 2 children and they dutifully added more settings. The next morning the staff has amnesia and set the table for breakfast for 8 guests again....

* On the third day housekeeping staff did not even clean our rooms. We requested this twice and eventually they did at 3pm on our insistence. This was not because they were busy fulfilling other jobs - we found them sitting around idle in the helpers back area. I think they simply forgot.

* On our last evening we had not asked for the chef to prepare a meal, rather opting to cook ourselves. The housekeeping staff asked us at 5pm if they could leave for the day, we said no, please stay a little longer to help clean up after our dinner. Then staff left about 45 minutes after this conversation, not even bothering to tell us, nor to empty the overflowing rubbish bin from the kitchen. The next morning our breakfast was delayed because the staff spent an hour cleaning up from the night before.

The Chef
* The chef with "international and local culinary skills" is a farce. The salad he prepared for us on our first night was something I'd expect at a boarding house. Iceberg lettuce, tomato, onion and capsicum. We also asked him to make spring rolls, which he did using only rice noodles and some spices. There were literally NO other ingredients used. 

*We brought our own supply of bacon (ok, a little weird, I admit...) and we requested with the chef to use this bacon to cook each morning for breakfast. He did this on the first morning and then seemed to forget and we found the bacon we had brought unused at the bottom of the fridge. He'd been serving the (not so great) Balinese bacon instead of the one we had asked for.

* I asked the chef to make a breakfast for one guest on our last morning, which he dutifully made. However instead of coming into the living room to tell me that the breakfast was cooked and ready, he simply left the plate in the kitchen and vanished. I found the plated breakfast 20 minutes later when I came into the kitchen check on his progress. It was cold of course. Strange that he wouldn't think to come and tell me when breakfast was ready. I also asked for a coffee which he either didn't know how to make, or forgot. 

The villa 
* The AC units in two of the largest bedrooms were not serviced properly or not large enough units to chill the largest two bedrooms. The staff responded quickly and arrange servicing but the room temperature was never below about 25 degrees, even overnight. 

* The ensuite bathroom as advertised for the 5th bedroom (newly added) is basic at best. It's not luxurious as advertised. 

* The area advertised in the listing as "North Seminyak" is in fact Canggu. Canggu is a great location however if you're expecting Seminyak you will be disappointed. 

* The cubby house within the garden is in disrepair and has several planks missing making it a hazard for children who could easily fall the 2.5 metres to the ground. 

Party planning assistance
During the booking process we'd explained to the Manager that we wanted to host a birthday party at the villa for 35 adults and we needed assistance with catering. There had been up to a dozen emails back and forth between myself and the villa manager about planning for the party. Many of my emails were unanswered and finally it appeared the least responsive villa manager, Evvi, who is at times rude in her tone, was either no longer employed, or had been told not to deal with our booking. We had sent no fewer than 12 emails detailing exactly the recipes we wanted prepared for the party - including the full recipe and instructions - along with every single ingredient we wanted the chef to purchase.  However our hours of planning in advance were a complete waste of our time as when we arrived not a single thing had been arranged in advance. Some of these things were:

1. We'd agreed in advance with Evvi to have two bartenders from 2pm until 11pm at an agreed price. The bartenders left the party before 9pm, telling us they had another job to go to. I have email proof of the agreed times and cost. 

2. I had sent several emails back and forth to hire glasses, cutlery, plate etc over 1 month before our arrival in Bali... and we had agreed on a price for the party rental items. The villa manager had done no planning and advised new prices for all of these items one day before the party. Prices had doubled. I asked why and he told me because no one had booked the party hire items as I'd requested weeks before  and we'd have to use a different party hire supplier who would charge double. I then had to waste more of my own time finding the email to prove to him we had agreed to a price and I had confirmed our party hire booking just so we weren't charged double the cost.  

3. The manager Craig told us of his chefs  "they are all extremely flexible and excellent chefs. The chef will be on hand to help prepare any food and shop for ingredients and the driver will also be at your disposal. All the chefs are competent in hosting large parties so everything will run smoothly." Not the case at all... Of the dozen or so emails we had sent prior to our arrival we'd asked for 3 specific dishes for the chef to prepare. We gave the villa manager the recipes, even the itemised ingredients to shop for and on the day of the party when we asked about the green mango and prawn salad and two other dishes he had done no prep, had none of the ingredients, and in fact Hery couldn't even find the email with our request.. So this was never even served to our party guests.

4. On the afternoon of the party the villa manager was not even there to oversee the preparations. Not one single staff member with basic English skills was organising the staff. I had to specially ask the manager to come and oversee the staff - basic things like "remember to clear plates away and regularly check for empty glasses to be removed" was too much for the staff to do. It was clear none of them had hospitality experience. 

5. The bar tenders we paid extra for did not even know what a 'virgin' cocktail was. I requested of them no fewer than 5 fives (every 30 minutes) during the party to "please ensure we have enough ice and clean glasses at all times" - we still ran out of ice because neither of them advised me when it had all melted and we had no clean glasses for drinks. One of party guests was served her her drink in a dirty glass that still had the remnants of someone's earlier drink in it. She asked for a fresh glass and was then given a wine glass with lipstick on the rim. The third glass they offered her was a shot glass for her white wine. I was embarrassed by their stupidity and lack of care for their job.</p>

            <span>Thank you for staying with us and for leaving your comments regarding the villa, we do welcome constructive feedback on how we can improve the villa product and service experience of our guests.  Please allow me to respond.  
Your original booking was for 11 adults at this 5 bedroom villa and there was no mention of any event, party or additional guests.  Much later on, you then stated you wished to hold an event for a large group for a birthday celebration.  Normally we would insist on a professional event planner be appointed for such an event and large number of guests at your cost, we rent our accommodation and the venue only.  In trying to be help you keep the costs down, we were flexible on this condition.  We have now learnt that this was a mistake and we will instead always insist on a professional event or party planner be appointed for ALL future bookings where a party will be held at the villa for a much larger group of people than staying at the villa.
There are several items which you mention that we have addressed and resolved.
With the same villa, staff and level of service, we receive many reviews both on this platform and many other very well known sales and marketing platforms.  The vast majority of these reviews are overwhelming positive about both the villa product, staff and service level.

While the booking process was efficient and the villa and grounds were spacious we felt that overall the villa was showing its age and was in need of some maintenance and possibly an update. For example the cushions on the outside couches were rather badly stained, the bath towels were more off white than white,  the floor boards by the pool were badly bowed and the air con in the meals area was out of action. While these things were only minor they combine to detract from what could be a fantastic villa. On the upside the villa was in a great location and the staff in particular the driver Zaenal were good.</p>

I’ve newly covered the outside cushions and have recently bought new towels across all my villas including this one.  The floor boards around the pool have been completely replaced and it now looks great.  I’ve also built a new large gazebo right next to the pool for even more guest comfort. The AC has been replaced in the dining area and now works well.
I’m so glad you enjoyed the villa location, it really is fantastic and enjoyed immensely by the villa guests.

        <p itemprop="description">We stayed for one week in the villa with a group of 5 adults and 4 children. The rent includes access to a nice beach club. The villa is huge and nicely designed. Unfortunately it is pretty much run down and not well maintained. The poor conditions of the bathrooms were the biggest dissapointment for us, especially the outside bathroom, which we consider not usable. For the price of the Double N villa significant better options are available on Bali.</p>

        <p itemprop="description">We stayed for 3 nights in the Villa Double N and would highly recommend it. Firstly, the space is huge and it is just like the photos.  Craig was very prompt with all of our questions. The staff is beyond good.  The Villa manager - Hery was always available on call and even visited us every day just to make sure things are ok. he is an excellent source of information and can arrange local tours. very helpful guy. The villa driver swastika doubles up as a tour guide. it was so convenient to have  a vehicle and trusted driver. The cook and the other 2 house staff are also very attentive and cater to almost every request. We made sure we had breakfast at the villa every day and the food was very tastsy. We are all vegetarians and it was no problem indeed.  Make sure you go to Canggu club for half a day to enjoy the facilities. we have 2 young kids agead 9 and 7, and they had a blast.  Also the nearby Berawa beach seems like a nice family friendly beach which we would highly recommend. it is a leisurely 20 min walk.  The villa is around 40 mins from the airport but 10/15 min from the main Seminyak area. In short- great trip and would definitely go there again if possible.</p>

        <p itemprop="description">Stayed here with a large family group and our stay was initially enjoyable but went downhill a bit after the aircon in the main eating area broke down and was not fixed for the remainder of our stay (despite requests to get it sorted). 
People looking at this villa should be aware that one of the guest rooms is very small and has an outdoor bathroom only (which smells like it has a plumbing issue). The other rooms (like the villa as a whole) are a bit run down but spacious and quiet. 
After our stay at villa double n we moved to villas that were more modern, had better standards of cleanliness (especially as far as the pools went) and were only 2 minutes walk from the beach. These new villas were roughly the same price and we will review them at the end of our stay. </p>

This review is very unfair.
You sent me an email 3 days into your stay saying that you were having an amazing time and asking for a free late check out on your departure date. I’m more than happy to copy the email onto this site if you wish.  
As we had other guests checking in the same day, I said we were unable to do this but that you could leave your luggage securely at the villa and collect later on before going to the airport.  You were not happy about this as you said you had young kids who would be sleeping until 14:00 but you knew all along check out is 12:00 midday.  If you couldn’t have a free late check out to 15:00 you said you would leave a negative review which you have done which is very disappointing.

The pool was slightly grey for 24 hours due to very heavy rains and the pool guy ensured it was clean the very next morning.  

The AC in the dining area works well, it has been checked by the engineer.

The outside bathroom is appreciated by a lot of guests as the other 4 ensuite bathrooms are internal, some guests prefer outside showers/bathrooms.  There is no smell in the bathroom area at all.  

All the villa was repainted internally 3 months ago.  The external areas will also be repainted in 4 weeks’ time.  We invest a lot of time and money maintaining this large villa estate and regularly block out dates in the calendar for routine and general maintenance.  For good measure, we have added an extra 3 days to the next maintenance period to do extra painting, decorating and maintenance.
