We booked this house for 4 nights in April 2103. Our first impression was very good, stunning gardens, like entering paradise, views to die for and the most amazing misty mornings and clouds coming up the valley was so memorable. Unfortunately we did have a few issues and felt there was work to be done to make this worth the high price tag. We have been to Bali now on 2 occasions and have stayed in 4 different villas so do have other places to compare this one to. We do understand this is Bali so appreciate that there will be issues with power, hot water and village noise. We had issues with the hot water running out very quickly and did not have enough hot water to fill a bath after a muddy day out on quad bikes. We were told by the manager that it was a new system but it certainly was not big enough or adequate enough for a house that sleeps 8 or so people. The house manager was never there so it was left up to the very hard working house staff to try to fix everything. We had little or no internet so couldn't check emails or book trips. The little Jogolo (not sure of spelling) was cute but felt unwelcoming so none of us used it. The main, separate bedroom and bathroom was very large but not overly comfortable or welcoming. The bed was impractical with it having 3 sides walled so you could only enter on one side, not great if your partner wants to get out of bed, they have to climb over you. If this doesnt bother you, great, its a beautiful piece of furniture. The house is far from Ubud so its quite a trip to go shopping if you want to, but if you do want to be away from it all and up in the stunning mountains then you will appreciate this special location. The staff were wonderful and worked so hard but we had issues with cold breakfasts and inconsistent meal satisfaction. I believe the owner was going to fully assess the menu and ensure the food was up to her standards after we passed on our feedback. If you want to sleep in in Bali you cant, roosters crow early and there is a fair bit of road noise even though it seemed to be in a quiet village. I must say, you don't want to sleep in, you want to take in every moment here but be aware of the noise issues and bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper. We didn't write a review at the time of our stay as we passed on our complaints directly to the owner. I will say she was onto it straight away so I truly hope future guests have a better experience than us. It would be magical here if everything was great but it was not up to the standard of a quite expensive rental.. I am hoping problems we had have been rectified but I felt it was only fair to future guests to be aware that this place is stunning but be aware there may be a few issues if nothing has been fixed since our stay.

Thank you so much for your review. Fortunately, we have made a lot of changes to correct the things you found disappointing, and we hope our guests will agree that our home is not only a beautiful residence to visit, but also the staff is more than capable in their jobs and willing to assist our guests with their holiday in Bali.

Warm tropical regards,

We spent 1 week in that villa in August 2014 and it have been wonderful. The Villa is just amazing, with unique piece of art in all room, you see the importance of each details that give a real authentic atmosphere. So Villa and Gardens are as luxurious as you'd expect, and the Staff completes the picture, always present for each need, always smiling, and with a really good cook. We had a good week in a typical Bali.

I have been coming to Bali and have visited other countries in the Far and Near East for 20 years for business and pleasure. I must say... the stay at the Rowe's residence was the most "awesome" experience as far as accommodations go. I felt at home with the staff and service. Their home is the merging of old Bali and modern necessities. Their antiques alone represent every place and period of asia. Awaking to the fresh air and limitless jungle view was the highlight. After being in the hubbub of larger villages such as Ubud..it is a welcomed and luxurious getaway !

I wanted to take my family to Bali for an awesome and memorable holiday experience. We found Pamela's 'Puri Naga Toya' villia outside of Ubud, Bali and immediately knew it was where we had to stay for our 2 week visit.

The photos you might see on websites for Puri Naga Toya look great, but being there in person is even better! The villa is surrounded by lush rice fields, dramatic mountain views, and a serene river outlook. The property is very well maintained by hand selected staff that Pamela has chosen to ensure her quests are treated like royalty.

Our two daughters aged 18 months and 3.5 yrs at the time had a ball and were well looked after and entertained by the staff. My eldest daughter is still asking me when if we can go back to Puri Naga Toya and stay again!

With a spacious, luxurious property, excellent staff and beautiful surrounds, this villa made our holiday perfect! Pamela truly knows how to create a slice of heaven!

Nearly six months after the visit my 4 year old daughter is still saying 'Dad, can we go there again?" and I'm still thinking the same as her! Absolutely!
