I'm surprised that this seems to be the first review, the villa is booked pretty much all the time.
We came here to chill out with another couple after a hectic week in Singapore. Things got off to a delayed start as Air Asia delayed our flight twice, eventually by nearly 5 hours. Luckily Ketut, the driver was willing to hang around at the airport and wait for us and was easy to talk to on the phone when the flight was delayed twice.
The owner provides comprehensive information pre-arrival, including contact numbers, very well organised and saved the day when we needed to re-arrange pickup.

It is a 3-hour (or more) drive from the airport to the villa, scenic in daylight, scary at night, but Ketut is a very competent driver.

The villa is 10-15 minutes drive from Lovina and another 15 from Singaraja (major city in the North), so you should expect to make use of Ketut or other drivers to get to shopping and restaurants.

But you don't need to do that too often, Kadek and Komang the housekeeper/cooks will shop and cook for you as much as you want, we alternated eating at the villa and outside restaurants. The quantity of nice food provided in the evenings we ate at the villa was enough to have leftovers for lunch the next day.

The villa is modern-styled and comfortable, with everything you need to relax. We didn't do "touristy" things that much, but enjoyed visits to the old Royal palace and an ancient temple in Singaraja and enjoyed eating at Secret Garden (magical), Buda Bakery and Resto (good once we avoided the smokers) and Warung Ayu (busy and slow service there). We had a couple of in-house massages from the service in the villa information book, a little more expensive than in Lovina, but no need to travel ourselves, well worth it.

The Sonos music system works well, be prepared to set it up on your own devices, the villa iPad has seen better days.

The only minor issue we had, and I've discussed this via email with the owner, is the internet/wifi. The modem/router is a little dated in technology and is placed in the far corner of the back storage/laundry room. This means wifi outside and in the front bedroom is unreliable and slow. If you are heavy internet users as we are, you will probably need to do what we did, buy local phone sims with data allocations, they are quite cheap and we used them when outside at the villa and when away from the villa.

A week here is too short, we had a great time, the staff are lovely, the villa is lovely, it's away from the crowded tourist areas, but there is enough to be entertained nearby if you want.
