In April 2017 the two of us left for Bali on our delayed honeymoon. We made a reservation for the Royani Villa in Celuk (10 days). Dwi picked us up at the Denpasar Airport. What a huge surprise when we discovered this villa: built in the traditional Indonesian style, with our private swimming pool! Surrounded by a wonderful garden which has lots of flowers and attracts all kind of birds and butterflies. And it is next to magnificent temple of the family. Dwi was so much more than the driver at the airport, he was always ready to give advice, to explain Balinese culture and traditions. He's willing to change his program of the day in order to show us his country where is terribly proud of. His wife Kadek is also very nice and helpful. We asked for a hairdryer and half an hour after she came with a brand new one! She just bought it because she and her husband take hospitality really seriously. They also helped us a lot with very practical questions.
Now that we have seen the big hotels in Kuta for example, we are so happy to be in the little village of Celuk (close to Sukawati with his art market and to Ubud, the cultural capital of Bali) where we discover the Balinese daily life with Dwi as an excellent guide.

Royani Villa is in the home compound of a lovely friendly family. Traditional Balinese in style this private villa oozes luxury with quality fittings and decor. There is a separate kitchen, separate dining room, separate massage room and plenty of seating both indoors and out. There is a round rattan day bed with a cover on the verandah, so comfortable.; I want one ! The bed in our bed room was extremely comfortable. The villa was very clean, well maintained and Wi fi connection was good. Tea/ coffee supplies plentiful.
I had a massage in our villa and the visiting therapist, Wayan, was very good.
The outside area boasted a covered pagoda with a traditional bamboo xylophone - what are they called ? and a lovely garden and pool. The pool was a delight to swim in, very clean and big enough to swim laps in.
I have left the best comment until last. The bathroom. It has just been renovated and we were the first guests to use it. There was a stone bath in front of a massive window looking out to a walled garden. A beautiful setting to bathe in. The separate shower had three water outlets, a rain shower, a hand held shower and a spout. Plenty of toiletries were supplied and the bath sheets were huge and thick. What I especially appreciated was having face washers supplied, not the norm for Bali, and the non slip bathroom floor. We suggested to Dwi that a holder for toiletries on the shower wall would be handy and this was promptly installed.

Dwi and his wife have a very good command of the English language and are very friendly and helpful. Dwi drove us to Ubud, complimentary, and will collect you from the airport.
The only downside would be that there are no restaurants within walking distance, but plenty of silver outlets. If coming again I would bring enough supplies so I would not have to leave this hidden treasure.

Words cannot even begin to express the wonderful time that we had in Bali due to Dwi and his family at Royani Villa. The pictures are true to form and in fact this is the first place that I have ever stayed in which the photographs pale in comparism to the actual property. Breakfast, which was prepared by the property owners wife, was the best food that I encountered in Bali and was only made better by the backdrop of eating alongside the view of our private pool. It is located in a remote location so you do not have to be surrounded by other tourists but is a close drive to Ubud by the shuttle provided by Dwi, who is also tour provider and fluent in English as well as Russian. It is also very close to Bali's Bird park and the zoo is approximately 15 minutes away. Once again, I highly recommend Royani Villas and Dwi for your trip to Bali.
