I reviewed this property prior to booking, and I'm happy to say that Villa Coco lived up to my expectations.

We stayed in a closed style two bedroom villa with pool, and this property offered vast spaces for three of us, including two bathrooms / toilets, dining, lounge, kitchen and a great little grassed backyard.

Having a small child with us, we also arranged fencing of the pool with Bali Equipment Rentals (see my seperate review) at an additional cost of AUD$17 per day.

The Villa Coco property is located down a quiet laneway behind The Haven.

Each villa runs off a pathway so you have a lot of privacy, and you are in easy access of the communal pool, restaurant and bar area which we took advantage of most nights for Happy Hour which starts at 4pm. Two cocktails for the price of one etc.

Having said that, the prices of poolside drinks during the day, and food was very reasonable for the convenience. Around AUD$7 for a cocktail and $3 for a small Bintang.

The staff were lovely, especially the Property Manager Claire, Head of House Keeping Komang, Sandra at Reception and the night security guard (Nyoman?) who made an early morning 2am) dash to the airport to collect us after it was realised we had been forgotten.

Issues other than the airport transfer at arrival were very minimal.

Some language barriers with staff not normally client facing are to be expected, so remember to approach reception staff directly. A few things I queried were immediately addressed by Claire who runs a very tight ship with welcoming and happy staff.

Breakfast to the villa was delivered promptly each morning (Thank you Ayu!).

Indonesian Dinner at our Villa which was part of our package was delicious and a lovely touch adding to our overall experience at this property.

Onsite massage therapist highly recommended (and once again, very reasonably priced at AUD$22 for 60 minute aromatherapy massage).

We stayed right in Seminyak on our last trip about five years ago, and could see the popularity of that area has gone through the roof in that time. Our south Seminyak / north Legian border location was much more pleasant for our daily outings.

This location has some lovely casual restaurants very close by (great pizza and pasta at Marzano).

Beach is only a five minute walk when using the back gate located past the "Beach Villas".

Overall, we were very happy to have chosen Villa Coco for our eight days and would highly recommend this property and its staff.
