We spent two wonderful weeks at this beautiful villa with a party of five adults. After a long journey of 30 hours we arrived around 8 o'clock in the evening and were greeted by the entire staff. They had prepared a nice meal which was very much appreciated after our exchausting trip. The rest of our stay we enjoyed the meals prepared by the cook Suda and served by Dési. Every day we ordered our meals for the next day and Suda then went to the market to buy the ingridients at prices where in Belgium we can only dream of. Not once have we been dissapointed with these meals and we only ate outside the villa once which in fact was not as good as Suda's cooking. As we are wine drinkers, Patricia, the owner of the villa, had given us the address of a liquor shop about 30 minutes from the villa where we purchased some nice wines at very reasonable prices. We also appreciated the Bintang beer which Suda bought for us. Our kids booked various excursions with Kuta, the villa manager, who was available by phone all the time to provide us with useful information. Besides the 18 meters swimming pool, there is the meticuously maintained garden taken care of by the gardener. It is difficult to describe the feeling we experienced at this villa and the pictures on the website don't do justice to the reality. We spent quite some time in the search for a place to stay in the North of Bali and we are now, more than ever, convinced that we made the right choice with the selection of this villa. We cannot imagine any other villa offering more than what we got for that price ! We had a wonderful time and if it were not such a long journey, we would definitely come back every year to spend 2 weeks in this wonderful place . Highly recommended !

This is really great to see how you enjoy. There is no better reward for the staff and I than this kind of feedback. Be sure we will read it to the staff. We will never give up in keeping up the high level of service and maintenance of the villa. If you wish to come again, I hope it can only be even better. Thank you.

Villa Aparna has everything you could want. Just stop looking at other places right now:

House: It has a perfect LARGE pool with three levels (good for kids and adults alike as the infinity edge gets very deep). Surrounding the pool are a Bale and many seating areas in shade or sun. It was my goal to sit in every seat at least once! With two outdoor showers and 4 bedrooms with A/C, blackout curtains and fans sleep was deep and peaceful.

Grounds: With beautifully manicured areas, flowers, high foliage on the sides for privacy, water features, stepping stones and fountains that made lovely water sounds you could hear while getting a massage it was perfect! The gardener was never intrusive but always working to keep things great. As a bonus he always grabbed the sun cushions out of the rain when it started and set the towels out every morning. The grounds were also dutifully watched by a security man that was nice, and patrolled regularly. Though, there was not much that worried us.

Staff: Now a note on Sudapta (Chef)) and Desi (housekeeper) who took care of us every step of the way! We had many meals in the villa. Sudapta would confer with me each day for the shopping and needs and go after breakfast and get it all. Ask him to make some of his traditional Indonesian dishes like roast chicken and lemongrass veggies or Pepers Ikan (tuna in banana leaf) excellent! He even arranged a birthday cake for us to celebrate with us! Demi was always so helpful serving food and setting the table. She arranges the rooms everynight (mosquito tablets/coils/curtains/beds) so its all ready to go. She washed our clothes and cleaned everything so we never had a worry. She was also very kind to my sons!

In short there was nothing out of place. We even did a dolphin tour from the villa and booked a massage with Amy which was GREAT. It is the north and there is very little nearby--save for Lovina. Only tip I have is when you drive through Lovina or Sererit to get there GET CASH then to pay for groceries so you don't have to find a ride to go in like I did. (but it was still easy to arrange through Gusti or others)

If I would you I would book it now---Patricia is prompt and easy to work with.

I have nothing but praise for this villa. The grounds were extensive to say the least, and the accommodation was more than excellent. All the staff were attentive, courteous and spoke very good English. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. We went snorkeling (that was fantastic), organised by Ketut, the manager, and had several home appointments with the local girls for pedicures, manicures, hair treatments and massages. Ketut also organised a fishing trip for the boys (early morning with the locals), which they enjoyed immensely. The only thing that could be improved at the villa is some sort of hand railing on the staircase upstairs (a little unsafe for either young or older persons). The wonderful thing about this villa is, it's very isolated, as in, you cannot walk to shops and buy groceries, the Chef does that for you (what more could you ask for). Take lots of Rupiah with you (say at least 4 million) to pay for the Chef's breakfast, lunch and dinner's (which are all reasonably priced) and any tours that you may do, as well as wine (very expensive, but that's Bali) and tips at the end for the staff. You can always get a lift into town for the ATM with the on-call driver, but that costs 250,000 rupiah ($25) return, so you may as well take as much rupiah as you can. This is a place our group could definitely return to. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here. Can't wait to save up the money and return.

Everything was perfect from start to finish. The property owner, Patricia and Kutut the manager were both very prompt at replying to our messages and always kept us informed. The Villa itself is absolutely amazing, from the bedrooms to the gardens there is a high attention to detail. Location wise it is located directly in front of the beach, great at night when all you can hear is the sound of the waves.

POSITIVES
- Staff are absolutely amazing, Sudapta is an amazing cook (which is probably why we had dinner at the Villa each night!) and Desi always has a smile on her face. Nothing was ever too much trouble. The gardens were always immaculate as was the pool and Gusti the driver ensured a comfortable drive.
- Bedrooms were huge and the attached bathrooms to each were equally amazing, Block-out blinds in bedrooms worked very well as did the Air Conditioning.
- The pool and gardens were amazing once again with a high attention to detail, always clean and tidy, as was the beach area in front of the Villa. The Pool is absolutely massive and great to see something deeper than 1.5m, with 3 depth levels across the pool (up to 2m), theres also some toy's there if travelling with children etc.
- Location - The villa is located up north which is far from the craziness of the southern beaches of Kuta etc. This will not be ideal for some but is the reason why we decided to stay here. The area is surrounding by lush forest and get's you away from everything. At the same time it's still very easy to get out to explore the area via car or scooter. Highly recommend organising a boat the collect you from the beach in front of the villa in the morning to go out and see the Dolphins, stunning without 20 other tourist boats around you.
- Food as stated was absolutely amazing and if you need Sudapta is more that happy to get you items from the store nearby, including snacks and drinks etc. Nothing was too much trouble.
- Close to snorkelling and diving locations.
- In Villa Massage - we organised for Amy to come to the Villa a number of times and the treatments were great!
- There is also a large collection of movies and satellite TV available in case of those crappy weather days or if you just want to chill out for a day.

I honestly can't think of anything negative about the property or our stay in general. The villa is located about 3 hours north of Kuta etc which will be a negative for some but this is the main reason we stayed here, to escape all that. You are still able to explorer the area and Ketut is more than happy to assist you with this.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Loved our stay here so much we have already begun making arrangements to return next year. Ideal for a group of friends and families as well. The property is big enough that you will never get in each other's way.

We had the pleasure of staying at Villa Aparna for 3 weeks. Overall our stay was fabulous - the villa is absolutely gorgeous. The property is huge; easily large enough for two families. We were two couples and an infant and didn't use half the villa.

Positives:
- Beautiful and large property with an excellent layout for two families or multiple couples
- Pleasant and helpful staff: Sudapta, the cook was wonderful and we ate almost all our meals at the villa. He would buy all our food every day from a local market including beverages and make runs to a local bakery for extremely reasonable prices. Patricia, the owner was extremely helpful and responsive before and during our stay. Ketut, the manager was also very prompt and helpful. I echo previous comments about having the massage services - the cost is essentially nothing and it's a perfect way to enjoy the upper balcony
- Close to great snorkelling at Pemeturan Bay
- Everything you could need at a very reasonable price - you don't need to leave the villa at all! And if you do, Ketut will arrange a driver for you to take you wherever you want to go (we spent three days in Ubud in the middle of our stay).

Negatives:
- You are extremely remote from the rest of Bali. There are really no options for restaurants or any sort of night life. We ate lunch out a couple times the only two restaurants we could find just to get out but there is nothing really to rave about.
- The drive from the airport is long (3+ hrs) and with the crazy driving in Bali, it's extremely dangerous at night - we would caution anyone to make sure you do not drive at night. The driver we had was insane, making blind hairpin turns in the dark on mountain passes and we were all incredibly stressed by the time we arrived. We learned our lesson and made sure we never drove at night again and also asked Ketut for a more careful driver for the rest of our stay.
- Although you are on the ocean, we found the water to be extremely dirty - garbage was floating over from Jakarta almost every day. It's too bad because the water temperature is really warm.
- Bugs: you are in the jungle of course so you have to expect ants, mosquitoes (day and night) etc. The staff fumigate before new guests arrive but if, like us, you are staying for a long time (>1 week), I would ask them to fumigate halfway through your stay. We really felt all the "critters" encroaching after 10 days or so.

As for the less positive, yes it is right, Villa Aparna is in a remote area, there are few restaurants around but nightlife is not what our guests are looking for. Roads are narrow, like every where else in Indonesia, especially to reach north Bali since we have to pass a volcano. Obviously you have not been lucky for the sea and bugs, none of our previous guests did report this so far.
Hope to see you again at Villa Aparna.

This is a beautiful villa.
Stunning during the day with superbly designed lighting at night especially in the huge garden.
I've been to Bali many times and wanted to check out the quiet, north west and also have the opportunity for easy access to Menjangen Island.
If you want to get away from the crazy commercial side of Bali, this is the place.

The cook is excellent and will cook what ever you want - his chips/fries are fantastic as are his local Balinese dishes.

There is a 'real' pool where you can swim lengths, a lovely bale to relax and in the evenings you can catch a movie in the well stocked living room.

The bedroom design is excellent. Powerful aircon and dark night curtains so you can get a good sleep.

Yes it's a long way from the south, but that's the point. Once you are here, you've got a villa, built and maintained to a high standard.
