Our group of 6 adults arrived on Christmas Day to be met by two cars and drivers and swiftly delivered to the villa. We were greeted by Made and Ayu with cold drinks and towels as well as a lighted Christmas tree!
Ayu was allocated to the villa for the 8 days of our visit and she was delightful and helpful and discrete. Each day a man arrived (unfortunately quite late in the morning) to clean the pool and tidy the gardens. Kedek dropped in a few times to check we had everything we needed and to deliver an amazing cake on New Year's Eve.
The villa itself is treading a very fine line between authentic and shabby. All the bedrooms have great cooling and blackout curtains, (we only lost power once in the whole visit) but the bathrooms (particularly the upstairs Very small and Smelly ensuite) definitely need some updating and all the bed linen needs replacing urgently - torn and with holes. The photos are definitely quite out of date.
The large living area is great but very warm, needing all the doors open, which in Dec/Jan is an open invitation to all the mosquitos in Badung.
There is a cooktop and toaster oven in the kitchen, a microwave would be a great addition.
The position was absolutely perfect but we were slightly put out by the constant 'in and out' of staff, so not a good choice if you are hoping for privacy.
The pool is good but shaded by early afternoon, and with no deck chairs we could not always use the poolside mattresses because they were often wet from the daily January rains and needed constant sweeping.

Overall we had a lovely, relaxing visit. Ayu was wonderful and we would consider rebooking a more modern villa in the same location for our next visit.

We are very regular visitors to Bali, and usually stay in a one b/r private villa. This time we needed 3 b/rooms and chose Villa Eshina1 based on price and position.

We stayed at Eshina for the first 5 weeks of our 7 week stay with my sister and her partner and then the last 2 weeks we had extra family arrive to fill the villa!
The villa staff were unfaultable and we appreciated their work and conversations.
The villa now has the rather colourful drapes removed from the huge day bed and Windows which I think is way better and less is best!
The rooms were comfortable and air conditioners were great.
The pool was sparkling clean and great for our 4 year old grandson and his younger brother.
Revolver cafe 2 steps away was also a huge bonus! Great walking distance to beach and fantastic for walking out the gang for meals .
The space for our large group as perfect and the kitchen came well equipped with toaster ,blender and electric jug plus lots of cups, glasses and crockery
We have been coming to Bali for years and wouldn't hesitate to stay at Eshina again.
