Excellent choice, excellent hosts. Highly recommended.

We were very, very pleased to have selected and stayed at Bali Ubud Villas. We stayed in the two- bedroom villa with views over the padi-field, located immediately next to the villa. One of the concerns I had (before arrival) was the level of privacy afforded by the villa, being so close to the padi-field. When we arrived, it was clear that would not seem to be an issue, as the villa ground were well-planned to provide sufficient privacy. The Villa and its grounds were exactly as shown in the photos. Truly a case of what you see is what you get. However, I will add that the bathroom was better in real life.

Jaya, his wife Ketut, and other members of staff (and family) worked hard to ensure the stay met our expectations. They extended flexibility and adaptability to requests and were always available, either in person or by telephone, to answer any questions.

How would I describe the accommodation? So, here is where things get a bit confusing for me. It was like a private, self-contained, serviced villa at a homestay. I use the word homestay because Jaya and Ketut truly make you feel like welcomed family friends. The chats are friendly and warm and we really felt like we were leaving friends when it was time to go back to the airport.

Word of warning. When we first arrived, the parking spot provided a moment of concern as it made me worry that there was a far lower level accommodation than what we booked. Rest assured, the parking area just hides the amazing villa from the road. About 50 meters away, down a lovely path, is a splendid surprise.

On a functional level, there is everything in the villa you’d need, such as stove, fridge, microwave, running water, drinking water, TV, satellite TV, stereo system and air-cond in the bedrooms. There is a great pool, huge day bed, comfy lounges, dining tables and informal breakfast table. The open air living area was relaxing and spacious. The four-poster bed was delightfully comfortable. In the kitchen, most of the cooking equipment wasn’t used by us- Ketut made Balinese coffee and cooked a hot breakfast every morning, ranging from western through to Balinese specialities. She was also happy to take meal requests. Ketut was also responsible for the Villa’s daily housekeeping tasks, and she would arrange laundry as necessary. Oh, and her rice paddy field walking tour was extraordinary in its warmth and insight.

So, the Villa is about 15 minutes away from Ubud. This was a positive and a negative. Being away from Ubud was fantastic and allowed us to gain a more rural feel to our stay. The setting was truly peaceful and serene. Jaya and his team provided an excellent, responsive, on-request shuttle service into Ubud (he provides a local mobile phone to contact him for transport). On the other hand, being 15 minutes out was occasionally annoying as it removed a layer of …. spontaneity.

We arranged a couple of activities through Jaya, including White Water Rafting and a day tour (conducted my him) to locations we requested. Both were very good value- Jaya was a great guide, providing information and local insights.

We stayed for eight nights. So, here’s the big question- would we stay there again? A resounding ‘yes’. Without question.

My husband and I booked a last minute reservation with Jaya at one of his Bali Udud Villas. It was even better than we expected. Don't hesitate, stay here!

We got to stay at two different villas and took a peek at a third, and all were amazing. Each villa is a true balinese escape. The design, architecture, gardens, views and pool were so breathtakingly beautiful.

Jaya and his family were extremely sweet and took really good care of us. Wayan made us delicious breakfasts and served them right in our garden next to the pool. Jaya and his nephew gave us rides to wherever we wanted to go (much easier than driving and parking). But we just wanted to stay at the villa--really, it's amazing! Highly recommend!

The villas are very well maintained, wifi is reliable, and location is ideal (just out of the madness of downtown Ubud). And very quiet (didn't notice any rooster noise).

We are at the villa for 3 nights stay. Jaya sent over his cousine wayang to pick us up in airport. The arrival to the villa was a brisk except for a traffic jam due to some ceremony. Villa is quite big and comes with 2 separate sitcom rooms and toilets, which will be better if they are connected for easy access to my kids. The hall is opened air concept with big LCD tv and DVD player. It has a private pool (not very big, but good enough), which is a plus for kids, we have a swim at the pool on one of the day, it really make our day.

Jaya (owner) and katuk (his wife) were friendly and katuk prepared fresh breakfast daily at the kitchen. You can see directly over the fence that farmer were planting rice, while we did not join in, I understand that can be arranged if interested.

The only setback is the location, it is about 15 to 20 mins drive to ubud city, so it may take up some precious time especially we were there for a short stay. Tour and car with driver can be arranged with Jaya or wayang. Jaya also does rental of car and motorbikes if you need. Just be prepared that there is some mosquito in evening, but mosquitoes seems to be everywhere in Bali anyway.

Overall, it's a great experience for us in Bali.

Jaya and his wife Ketut are the most helpful people and we had lots of fun talking to them and learning more again about the Balinese culture. The daily massages at the villa saved us from going somewhere to get a treatment and we rate them very high.
Ketut's breakfast is fantastic, especially the fried bananas.
The distance to central Ubud was originally a concern, but it is only a short drive with the motorbike or taxi. Jaya also offers a lift I to town for guests who stay
longer. All up a great place to stay.

Was looking to returning to Ubud with my girlfriend. We had already experienced staying in town, but now wanted a more laid back setting. A villa rental seemed like a good idea, especially as we really wanted to have our own private pool.

The outdoor living area was a great experience,,,the rice field views and mountains in the background, mesmerized us. We observed workers planting rice, while ducks roamed around.
And we had a couple of wow sunsets! Was fun being able to jump into the pool at any time of day! Also enjoyed massages in the tea house, near the pool!

The kitchen area had the amenities we needed. And the bedrooms each have their own ac unit; the bathrooms each have separate shower (nice size) and tub.

The owner, Jaya, was helpful arranging rides into Ubud for us. Coming back, it's easy to get a taxi for the 10 minute drive. Jaya even made a small map for us to keep to show to the drivers!

We walked to a local Balinese restaurant one night, and enjoyed some fish and other Balinese dishes.

One night we were given a Balinese cooking class by Jaya's wife,,,and we were lucky to also be able to go to the store with her beforehand, to help pick out the food and ingredients needed!

Jaya also arranged a rafting trip for us down the ayung River!

Hoping to get some friends to come with us next time!

Having been to Ubud before, my boyfriend and I were looking for more of a private home experience, rather than a hotel.
We were not disappointed,,,Bali Ubud Villa was our 'home' for a few days in March.
We enjoyed the 'outdoor' living area, overlooking the garden, pool and picturesque rice fields, with scenic mountains in the distance. We truly felt like being a part of nature,,,and the frog choirs at night was very entertaining!
The garden/pool area is nicely landscaped, creating much privacy , without obstructing the scenery. We enjoyed nightly massages in the Tea House, arranged by the Owner, for about $10.00us (!!).
Speaking of the owner, he was super nice and helpful. He would arrange transport into Ubud, a 10 minute drive, when we needed. He even took us to the local grocery store himself, and waited for us a couple of times! He also showed us his favorite place for Padang food,,,we took it 'to go' and heated it up in the microwave for dinner! We found the kitchen to be adequate for the couple of nights we cooked.
We also lucked out during our stay, as 'Nyepi', the Hindu Balinese New Year, was celebrated. We had fun seeing the many creative 'ogoh-ogoh' statues, made by the local villages, being paraded. And the following day, we, like the rest of Bali, observed the 'Day of Silence', by staying at the villa all day!
We thoroughly enjoyed our 'Balinese home' experience in a beautiful villa!
