We stayed in the in 3 Bed Room Villa for 4 nights and the Villa and grounds are very nice and comfortable. The best part was the yard, pool and many place to rest outside. The whole Villa is really set up for an enjoyable and relaxing vacation.
There are though some issues and some of them can ruin your stay.
First the Villa is a little more dated here and there than you would expect. Some Furniture is not quite as nice, AC is noise in Master Bedroom and the Water-wall at the pool is not working.
- The biggest issues is NOISE coming from 2 different sources. Prior to booking I had asked about construction and was assured via email that nothing was planned or ongoing around the Villa. In the morning of our first day the ground started shaking as heavy machinery was clearing the lot immediately behind the Villa and it was very noisy. The lot is approx. 3 acres and according to the staff a new Hotel is being build!! Upon our complaints to the manager explained that it had just started 3 days ago. Upon more a more thorough inspection from my wife (a civil engineer by trade ) given the expansive nature of the lot and what had been moved, they must have been working there for at least 3 weeks.
- The other source of noise is the Hotel on the southwest side of the Villa. It seemed to host mainly young 20-something. During the day it is not an issues but on Friday there was a pool party lasting from 5 - 10 pm. the Music was very LOUD. We had a hard time talking to each other and could not hear the TV even when it was turned all the way up. We tried to complain to the manager and wrote emails to the rental agency but we got nothing but apologies that did not change the situation. Not at one point was there any offers of some kind of restitution over promises that were not kept!
One last issue is the advertised American Breakfast. Even though we were asked what we wanted for breakfast there was only a very limited selection. We ended up having scrambled eggs (heated in the microwave) on toast. We asked for pancakes but were told that there would an extra charge.....eat breakfast at a cafe instead.
All in all I have a hard time recommending the Villa although the staff worked hard to try to help they only spoke very limited English (except for the manager who is not on site often).
There are many other Villas in the area and there is not construction everywhere. Also the Villa is not that centrally located and you cannot walk to that many places. To me it is not worth its price tag and given the size of the construction it might be a while before it will be a quiet oasis again.
