“Very cozy and elegant.”

This Villa on the Island of San Giulio allowed me the experience of old times Italian aristocracy. The furniture and paintings are exquisite, same the big chimney. In the same time, the house is equipped with all the necessary facilities for the current times. I would totally recommend the experience.

Response from the owner Thank you for coming. The fireplace is indeed a pride, in the old days (before the independent central heating in very room we have now) it was large enough for two people to sit inside, there are two small ledges, and on one side there is a small window, one could sit by the fire and talk to the next door neighbour (who would be in their garden) through the wall! The house is full of these funny tales, testimony to the many centuries of its long history since 1639! We have modernised everything taking into consideration the heritage of its tradition. So glad you appreciated it.

“Second time in paradise and not the last!”

We returned to this paradise island for the second time bringing new friends and found the atmosphere as enchanting as ever. The water was still very warm and we swam often in the evenings too. We used the bbq to cook in the garden by the gate, next to the stone table where we would dine. So calm and peaceful. There is a good collection of books to read. We left regenerated and look forward to coming again.

Response from the owner Thank you very much, always lovely to have you back. Remember that you can also fish in the lake, the perches are renown and there are also big pikes, and grill your fresh catch on our new bbq, in the autumn the water in the boat house fills with chubs eating the grapes that fall off the bower! That the water is crystal clean is a vaunt of the lake, and unique to other larger Italian lakes, and remember to swim round the island next time! ;)
