“Fun, relaxing, easy to get to Como towns”

Reviewed 9 Jul 2018

My wife and I came to stay for our honeymoon. This villa at the Lake Como Beach Resort was a fantastic get-away on our trip. The bus line comes right out front up the hill, which makes for easy travel. A ferry point is just down from the hotel, as well. Eric and Jennifer were SUPER nice and helpful and were always around to help with questions or our needs. They're just great people, too! The room was great. A full refrigerator and freezer, with a living room downstairs and bedroom upstairs. The garden is great to have dinner, grill, or read in. The private beach strip along the water is just an absolutely invaluable asset. We had great sun the whole time, and a couple of short rain showers in the evening. There is a small grocery store up the stairs. There's also Peppo's a cute little pizza bar run by a very nice family. Prices are amazingly affordable. There are a couple more restaurants within a 10 min walk. The, there's a lot more restaurants down the bus line in both directions. Ask the staff for recommendations. We took a day to see Como. We took a day to see Bellagio. And days in-between, we just chilled on the beach, shopped at the market and made our own dinner. Parking was great, but just a little steep on the driveway. Any 4-wheel drive car handles it no-problem. The parking spot was incredibly valuable, as the road along Como is tight and tucked into the hillside with very little parking along the street. The hotel also has a small honor-bar in the lobby where you can find water, beer, wine, and coffee for a small price. That was really valuable, especially late evening and morning. The hotel is also very secure, almost like a gated estate. I would highly recommend this hotel, and visiting Como!

Response from the manager Thank you for your very kind review. We look forward to your return. Ciao from Como! Eric , Robin and Jennifer

“The perfect romantic get-away...and the ideal hosts”

From the booking process (Eric and Robin are endlessly responsive on-line) to our final farewells, this was truly a magical stay on the shores of Lake Como. Situated directly across the Lake from George and Amal (yes, that George and Amal), the villas are set at lake level, with a cute little garden and lakefront sand bar. Although getting up and down from the lake to the road is a little bit of a hike, it's helped by the resort elevator (!), and the local groceria will deliver the basics to make your meals (if you like); there are also a number of local restaurants that serve generous amounts of northern Italian cuisine. The villas are mid-way between Como and Bellagio, and the views are stunning at every turn; although I'd recommend renting a car at the airport, you can also get around by taxi and ferry (on the lake). Eric and his aide-de-camp, Jennifer, were delightful, and ever so helpful; Eric went above and beyond to get us out of a jam with a flat tire that could not be repaired and required a trip into Como for replacement. They both also helped with restaurant reservations, cooking classes, and speed-boat rentals. We've been to many places in Italy (Florence, Venice, Cinque Terra, Lucca, Sicily, Rome, and the Amalfi Coast)...NONE were as beautiful, romantic, and thoroughly enjoyable.

Response from the manager Ciao Richard, Thank you both for your lovely review. We look forward to having you back again with us someday soon. You are awesome ! Eric, Robin and Jennifer

Stayed in April as part of a 40th birthday party. The place is perfect , lovely and rustic with all mod cons. Kitchen was well stocked, honesty bar was always stocked and sunloungers a plenty. Our accommodation was no 11, nicely tucked around the corner with beautiful views of the lake from the bedroom. The drive down was a bit hair raising but part of the charm. It's in a great location if you don't hire a car, 5 min walk to the bus stop which is situated by the local bar and supermarket and 10 min walk along the cobbles to the ferry stop. Eric who runs the place was always happy to help with any questions we had. Overall I cannot recommend this place enough and the view is just outstanding. We will be returning.

Response from the manager Thank you for your very kind review. We look forward to your return someday. Ciao from Lake Como! Eric and Robin

This place is absolutely amazing. It's right on the water with a private beach, something I did not see while passing other villas. It's clean, quiet, and the view is spectacular. I could have easily spent my entire vacation here. The owner, Eric, and his staff are very friendly and helpful. They definitely go the extra mile to ensure their guests have a pleasant stay. I can't wait to stay here again.

Response from the manager Thank you so much for your very kind review. It was a real pleasure to have met you. We are so happy you chose to stay with us and hope you will be back to visit someday on your next trip to Como. Ciao from Como. Eric, Robin and Jiselle

“Beyond our expectations, in every way imaginable!”

From the moment we were greeted by Mohammed to the very last hug of our host, Eric, our stay was magical. We were guided on our way there and sent off with a request to follow-up to ensure we made it home safely. Every step of the way, there was exceptional care and genuine concern that you make this your best experience EVER. Our particular visit did not include much sunshine, but it never deterred us from doing anything. We visited all the islands via the ferry (5 minute walk away), hiked the incredible mountain side learning more about the residents, made life long friends with the local grocer and other fabulous guests as well as frequented suggested establishments. In addition to the incredible service, what we will take with us in our hearts is the sound of the water lapping up against the lakeside while looking over the incredible view of the lake as the clouds lift in the morning. You will not be disappointed yet if you arrive by car, the driveway is not for the faint-hearted! We miss you, Eric and Mohammed!

Response from the manager Having exceptional guests like you is always such a pleasure. We want to thank you from our hearts for staying with us at the resort. Thank you for choosing to stay with us . We are so happy you had a terrific stay. Mohammed will also be very happy. Being appreciated by our guests for the special customer service and car we offer makes all the hard work worth while. We love what we do and all our very special guests. Thank you , Thank you ! What a sensational place to spend a week at. This can only be described as God's country. We spent a week here in September enjoying the viletta, the other guest as they came and went. Made some new friends enjoyed many a good wine in the evening as the sun set, dining on the local cuisine which we could prepare in our beautiful viletta. Eric is the perfect host catering to all our needs and questions. His beautiful daughter Giselle is a true angel definitely years beyond her young age. This was one of the highlights of our trip. And I can not recommend this to others more highly. Do yourselves a favour. Spend time here. You will not be disappointed. We will be back just as soon as I can get the time.

We spent a week at the Lake Como Beach Resort. It was a very relaxing time. The service was great. Eric the owner made us feel very welcome, Everything you needed was supplied in the villa. The beds are especially comfortable after Italys' usually very hard mattresses. If there was anything we needed Eric was available at the end of the phone. He even took us to the post office to help us send a parcel back to australia, our Italian was piccolo. We would definately recommend a stay here. Our weather was'nt the best in early October, but we still had a great time. Some lovely restaurants to try and the ferry is 5 mins walk allowing you to visit all the surrounding towns on the lake. Would be even more special in sunny weather. Hello to Eric and family. The local people were very kind and made sure we were looked after. Made some lovely friends here.

“Exceeded all of our expectations!”

The service we received during our stay was perfect. A fine balance between attentive without being intrusive. The accommodation was very comfortable and perfect for self catering with provisions from the local store and markets. The location was slightly removed from the bustle of Como central (our choice) yet the local transport was cheap and very reliable for the excursions we chose to take. Our best memories are of the peace and tranquillity of the resort and the friendliness of the locals. The most significant improvement we could think of was the addition of a self service laundry.
