“Charming and authentic chalet in South Tyrol”
This is a lovely chalet in the mountains of South Tyrol. The house is beautifully decorated and appointed with high end utensils, linens and furniture. It is also very new, so everything is sparkling. In the middle of the kitchen/dinning room is the "stuber" around which the family gathers for meals and conversation. It is a family friendly cabin, everybody in our group had something to do. From the house, we took trips to Merano, Bolzano and the mountains. The museum hosting Oetzy and the thermal baths in Merano should not be missed. Also the food in this region is quite amazing. We did two long hikes--one for 16 miles on the crest of the mountains from Falzeben to the "stone men" and one around the 7 lakes (357 floors up and 357 floors down, ouch!); both were lovely. The host Michaela could not be more charming. She introduced us to the history of South Tyrol and gave us the tips for the trips we took. Organic and high quality wine, apple juice, jams, and bakery products are provided at the door at low cost. We damaged the jam and juice reserves for this year... Highly, highly recommend this place.
