This is a great location and the views are amazing. Not far to several ski areas, this house has everything that you need and is easy to relax in and enjoy your holiday. Lots of local walks available with great scenery. We will definitely return and will also comeback in the summer. The owner was easy to contact and very helpful.
Schönes Haus, Wahnsinnsaussicht, modern ausgestattet. Leider für 6 Personen nicht genügend Gläser und entsprechende Kochutensilien (Töpfe, Schüsseln,etc. ) vorhanden. Bei Sonne wird der schöne große Balkon, mangels Markise schnell zu heiß; auf der unteren, überdachten Terrasse gibt es gar keine Sitzgelegenheit - schade! Im Haus selbst wünscht man sich bei 6 Personen noch die eine oder andere Aufbewahrungsmöglichkeit für Bücher und Spiele; auch ein größerer Couchtisch (zum Spielen) wäre schön gewesen. Die technische Ausstattung des Hauses lässt kaum Wünsche offen. Allerdings hat man zu sechst schnell ein Müll-Entsorgungs-Problem!

Geräumiges, gut gelegenes Haus. Großes Wohnzimmer, vollständig ausgestattete Küche, große Terrasse mit hervorragender Aussicht auf den Millstätter See. Gastgeberin ist sehr freundlich, kompetent und sehr gut erreichbar.

This is the second trip to Haus Claxton for us and loved the property and area so much, that we decided to build our own! Flying from our home in Singapore, Dobriach is just a short 3 hour drive from Munich and very easy to access. Nothing better than the first view of the lake as you come through the mountains! We have two young kids and the house is perfect in every way. Fiona has be a joy to correspond with and couldn't be more helpful.

Dobriach is a very attractive peaceful lake-side holiday destination and 'Haus Claxton' takes full advantage of its hilltop situation to allow unobstructed enjoyment of the stunning scenery. The layout of the chalet is very practical and extremely comfortable. The large sliding glass doors leading out from the main living area to the wide upper terrace allows for a very relaxed ambience. Breakfast and evening meals are delightful on the terrace, watching the sun rise over the valley and set behind the mountain behind the house. Dobriach is an excellent centre for summer activities such as water sports on the lake with hiking both locally and in the many nearby mountain parks. Within a reasonable distance are some wonderful car tours of mountain roads such as the Nockalmstrasse, Villacher Alpenstrasse and the Goldeck Panoramastrasse each offering splendid walks to summits with amazing views all around. The walk to the summit of nearby Millstatter Alpe starting at the welcoming Lammersdorf Hutte is a definite 'must'. Further afield is Lake Bled in Slovenia which make for a contrasting experience. Dobriach offers some good restaurant facilities by the lake-shore and the nearby Spar store is very adequate for everyday needs with a fair selection of wines too. There is a good family-run trout farm just the othe other side of Radenthein. Recommended for a summer holiday but the chalet looks to be very comfortable for a winter stay too as it appears to be extremely well-insulated and heated. A steep road and unmade track leads to the chalet but overall easy access by car - not so by foot!
Das Ferienhaus war wunderschön und geräumig. Hochwertig eingerichtet und sehr hell und sauber. Wir hatten einen wunderbaren und entspannten Urlaub dort. Ich würde dieses Ferienhaus jederzeit wieder besuchen ;=)) Die Eigentümerin hat uns per e-mail angeschrieben um sicher zu gehen, dass wir auch gut und sicher angekommen sind und alles zu unserer Zufriedenheit ist. Absolut topp!
