This villa is absolutely amazing and I would highly recommend it to anyone! The villa in a great location. It's about a 10 minute walk into Argegno which is a gorgeous little town with restaurants and shops. Francesco was very welcoming and helped us with recommendations on where to eat and where we could watch the world cup! The villa itself is lovely and spacious. The rooms are amazing and it has it's own boat house which is ideal as we had a boat and did lots of waterskiing. I would highly recommend and will hopefully be returning very soon!

We have just returned form an amazing family holiday (7 adults) in Villa La Ruga and cannot recommend both the Villa and host too highly! It is beautiful with all the amenities and equipment you could want, plus a well stocked kitchen for self catering. It was beautifully clean on our arrival and Francesco provided a wonderful welcome selection of treats. He helped us with boat hire (a fantastic addition to the holiday) restaurant recommendations and was happy and willing to help in any way we needed. Patricia the chef cooked a wonderful celebration meal for us one night, and Valentina gave us a great cookery lesson, we created wonderful pasta and sauces! The five star recommendation is well and truly deserved and we are already booking for next year.

Having visited Lake Como a year prior, we were enamored with the beauty and tranquility of the area. We visited Villa La Ruga after searching online and were given a tour of the property by the owner, and now friend, Francesco. We immediately booked his Villa for two weeks and our only regret is we could not stay longer. From our pre-arrival communication through our departure, Francesco exceeded our EVERY need and expectation. Villa La Ruga is located in Argegno, Italy, on the West side of Lake Como. This location is perfect from a touring perspective as it is mid-way along the shore of Lake Como. The town center is a quick 5 minute walk away and has several excellent restaurants and the ever important wine bar and gelato store. Villa La Ruga is a PRISTINE property, boasting exceptionally manicured gardens, bacci court, sunning areas, boathouse and an extension jutting over the water. The views from each and every angle are STUNNING. Every morning the sunrise greets you and every evening, the gentle sounds of the water encourage the most restful sleep imaginable. The interior of Villa La Ruga is spotless and traditionally Italian. The bedrooms are generous and decorated very tastefully and the beds are exceptionally comfortable. The air-conditioning is brand new and you can enjoy your rooms cool or with the shutters open to hear nature and the water. Villa La Ruga is secure, with an electronic gate and lighting. There is space for 5 cars on the property and more guest parking at street level. This home also has a wine cellar, washer and dryer, ironing board, ping pong table, downstairs refrigerator, etc. Everything you could possibly think of. We entertained over 28 guests during our two weeks at the property and EVERY single day was flawless thanks to Francesco and Patricia, our chef. Every morning we had a delicious breakfast waiting for us and every afternoon we had an even more delicious lunch. Patricia, our chef cooked dinner most nights and we were speechless at the quality, taste and perfect meals, day after day. I could lament endlessly how delicious her meals were. She is now our friend and we will certainly keep in touch long after our stay. Both Francesco and Patricia are our extended family. This is truly how we feel about the kindness, professionalism, and warmth that we were shown during our stay. The Villa also has a boat house on property and a boat to rent. We used the boat EVERY day and the convenience of having the boat was an added bonus. It is a quick 25 minute ride to the center of Como, or going North, to Bellagio. As VERY VERY avid fitness people we loved running in Como or taking long hikes up the Argengo road; even after 90 minutes we were not at the top and the views were BREATHTAKING. There is also the Lago di Como Greenway which goes on for miles and miles, where you can run, walk, hike up and down hills, through small towns and villages, visit other Villas and churches and admire the views. Simply stunning. In closing, if you are looking for a vacation home in the HEART of Como with an owner who has a heart of gold, is the kindest and most respectful and courteous person who will go to the ends of the 'lake' to make your stay amazing, then Villa La Ruga is your perfect location. Patricia is an AMAZING chef. Our only regret was leaving and I did so with tears in my eyes....it was THAT GREAT!!!

There is not a better water view on lake como.This villa is perfect for a relaxing vacation where you can enjoy the lovely,quaint village of Argegno as well as the surrounding towns. Francesco is the perfect host,he set up a private boat tour with Matteo on a beautiful covered mahogany boat. We loved our chef Umberto who prepared and served a gourmet dinner on our private balcony. Dont miss this opportunity to experience a little slice of heaven. We will be back

We spent 6 wonderful weeks in May and June at this fabulous location between Como and Menaggio. 5 minute walk from the lovely small town of Argegno where you will find great bars and restaurants with extra friendly staff. Francesco (our host) went above and beyond to attend to all our needs and I cannot thank him enough for this. The villa has 4 bedrooms upstairs (one of the bedrooms is quite small and is off the largest bedroom upstairs). The main bedroom and bathroom is downstairs and is very large. We had use of Francesco's boat which we rented in addition to the villa and I recommend you do this or at least let Francesco show you around via the boat as the Lake is beautiful. Cannot recommend this place enough for groups of 6 to 8 (10 at a squeeze) people. The only negative is that we would not recommend it for small children or toddlers as it is very close to the water and the surrounds of the house are not fenced off adequately for young children.

We recently spent 6 weeks at Villa La Ruga. We had the best time.We entertained and hosted family and friends. Everybody enjoyed the Villa and especially the boat. The local town Argegno is a little gem. We were treated ss locals and enjoyed the food and bars. Francesco the host was amazing. He is extremely friending and very helpful. Nothing is an issue and he responds to any requests extremely quickly. Thanks Francesco

Lake Como right on the lake fantastic spot over looking Como lake,we also got great use of the boat. Cute little Restaurnts about half a kilometre away in Argegno. Also had the best hosts the Molloys.,they definitely picked the right house our room over looking the lake.

Amazing lake-side family accomodation in perfect location to explore all that Lake Como has to offer. Great place to sit and enjoy the scenery, with plenty to do at the Villa or short trip to other villages, I suggest you do this via boat. Francesco was very hospitable throughout our time at Villa La Ruga and I can strongly recommend it for your holiday to Lake Como

The villa is absolutely fantastic with amazing environment. Every morning it provides amazingly pleasant feeling with sun and the sound of birds. The villa has pretty much everything such as wine cella, garden, terrace and even boat. This is the one of the best Air BnB.... I have ever experienced. Francesco the owner is amazingly kind and considerate for the guest and I can see that he always want to make this villa best for the guest. Thanks Francesco again!!!
