Une maison d'un charme absolu, Autant que les villages alentours, il ne manque absolument rien, vue incomparable sur le lac de quasiment toutes les pièces et ...... Evidemment de la terrasse. Nous étions six personnes et cela est a notre avis le maximum pour être a l'aise bien que 2 personnes de plus peuvent dormir sur place en sus Par ailleurs, un très très bon accueil des gans de la famille propriétaire.. A voir absolument !!

Andrea and his family were helpful from the outset, from advice for getting there, meeting us on arrival and showing us around. His mother and sister kindly came ever so early in the morning to return the deposit when we left. Casa Ortensia was clean and comfortable and well kitted out, and the windows are right above the lake so you could hear the waves lapping on the shore at night. The village catches the breeze nearly all the time so it was a lovely temperature. We ate on the upstairs verandah for the views of the mountains and lake. The quiet village is built on the cliff which involves lots of walking up and down cobble stairs to the church square where you park the car, and down more (2 mins) to the lake. We swam every day from the little stony beach and harbour. Small supermarkets and restaurants are in Dervio and Colico about 3 and 7 minutes away in either direction. We hired canoes on the lake and walked along the old medieval cobbled road into the mountains, passing ruins and smallholdings, and walked up the near alps in Switzerland and the Italian passes.
