“Excellent Experience”

Reviewed 24 Jun 2018

Staying at Villa Central Varenna is one of my top 3 home rental experiences - ever. The professional, yet charming, hosting at this fantastic property makes me want to rush back as soon as possible. There were 7 family members and we all had complete privacy. Our host greeted us with breakfast goodies and lots of helpful information. The location can not be beat. Don't miss the outstanding gardens right across the street.

“Great house in the center of the village”

Reviewed 7 Sep 2017

Varenna is a nice village on Como lake. The big house, suitable for big families or big groups, is well positioned close to the center of the village. You can leave the villa for hiking in the nearby mountains, or following narrow, enchanting and steep alleys, reach the lake and the Lido to enjoy the sun and the lake water. The house has several big rooms, suitable for big families like our one (5 people) but you can be there in few more persons with babies. The owner is very collaborative and the staff, taking care of you at the arrival and for the cleaning of the house, is very kind and professional. The availability of air conditioning and mosquito nets would be desirable, as the heat and the mosquito create many problems for the enjoyability of the Villa.

“Wonderful place...”

Reviewed 16 Jun 2017

From the outside it doesnt look like a place to stay but as soon as you step in, you notice its like you are in your own home. It's three storeys with several rooms to accommodate a big group. I had the luck of staying in the third floor and it had a view of the lake and the town across the lake plus the extra huge bathroom. Also equipped with washer so we had the chance to do our laundry. From the train station, its about a 15-20 minute walk on cobblestones so be prepared.

“fabulous”

Just go ahead and book the house. The location is wonderful. The house was super clean. They let us drop off our luggage before check in and were very friendly. The accomendations were great. The top bedroom is one extra flight of stairs and the outside area is on that level. We still used the outside area a couple of nights. The town was fabulous and the food was delicious. It was super easy to rent this house via trip advisor. Liz always answered back quickly. Perfect!!

“Great villa, handy for Villa Capresi -shabby chic style”

Reviewed 7 Aug 2016

We stayed here for a few days when attending a friends wedding at the Villa Capresi. The villa was great for our needs - the out door space was great for chilling out and there were just enough bedrooms for us. Kitchen equipement was great - we mainly used the fridge and crockery and cutlery. Wifi was good. We had no problems with the electricity but were warned by the owner that this can be a problem. great stay - owner very helpful when it was clear we were arriving late

“Ideal location, great apt”

Reviewed 5 Jul 2016

We are a family of three couples who stayed in this lovely apt for three nights. Our hostess was awaiting our arrival and was gracious and helpful in every way. Thanks for the cookies and fresh fruit! We drove and parked in the parking garage next door. Since the roads are so poorly signed, the Google maps GPS was a navigation necessity. In case one has difficulty in exiting the lot ( we misplaced our ticket and there was no attendant on duty,)simply go across the street to Hotel Cipressi and pay for the parking with no hassle. The apt was lovely and met all of our needs including all necessary pots, pans and dishes for preparing several meals.

“The other reviews are all right on so here are a few hints.”

Nice place and well located relative to the main piazza in front of the church. The other reviews are all right on so here are a few hints. The walk from the train station to the place is about 20 minutes regardless of what they say. There are places where you and the cars share the road but we made it OK with three kids. The bar/cafe between the place and the piazza sells caffe' to go and is clearly used to dealing with non-Italian coffee drinkers. On the day we left he was open at 7:00AM - really. The place requests that you take your own garbage to the bin near the church but if you're on your way to the train station and in a hurry, you need to know the bin is on the same side of the street as the big church, behind a hedge just before the church. And, while not wanting to sound vain, the wifi is barely there. We did a speed check and it almost didn't register. So if you're counting on the internet for anything important.....All in all a good place to stay for a larger group - we were a party of 7.

“Clean, convenient and comfortable”

We stayed at the villa for 4 nights. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday with sight seeing, boats trips and a walk up to the castle AND our cousins wedding! We would love to visit Lake Como again and we would definitely stay at Villa Central again. Thank you to Liz who answered all our questions and queries.

A presto Il Suo Staff
