The villa is beautiful, spacious, well maintained, and has many amenities for a large group. Its location is perfect for exploring the Lake Como region in that the village of Bellagio is only a fifteen minute drive away from the villa. In Bellagio it is easy to access the car ferries to Varenna and Cadennabia which makes travel within the area very easy. The views from the villa are spectacular and boat trips on the lake are a wonderful way to explore the villages and towns nearby. It is also important to note that within walking distance of the villa are a pizza restaurant, mini-market, Danilo's restaurant, post office, and a dock for a boat ferry which will take you to all important sites on the lake. If interested, Happy Homes will arrange for a personal chef, Diego Tosi, to come to the villa and prepare delicious meals for you. It is also possible for the rental agency to make reservations for a daylong boat trip which was only one of the highlights of our stay at Villa Apollo.

We recently rented Villa Apollo to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary, taking along with us 8 other adults, for a total group of 10. We rented the Villa through Happy Holiday Homes/Lake Como Homes (c/o Danilo Gerletti - Harold Lubberdink). The experience was nothing less than perfect. The Villa itself is very well equipped and an excellent choice for a large group of people. The pool is large and very well maintained. The grounds are planted with a number of exotic and beautiful trees, shrubs and flowers. The ViIla itself is in excellent shape and the bathrooms have all been updated with modern fixtures. WiFi works very well. Views are fabulous from all rooms and common areas. Boat dock/covered slip is excellent. But apart from the physical aspects of the house, which leave nothing to be desired (and this is clearly one of the nicest villas in the small town), we have to say our trip was made all the more special (quite literally, complete with fireworks) due to the efforts of the crowd at Happy Holiday Homes/Lake Como Homes, who managed every aspect of our visit (through a million e-mails over the course of a year of preparation) so that nothing went amiss once we were there. Maria, our cook, was excellent and spoke just enough English to make meal planning all the more fun. Giancarlo - the Villa's owner - was always available (w/o being intrusive) to answer any questions about the Villa. But the prize for special friends go to Harold & Danilo, who made sure every moment of our stay was special and care free. We only hope we can concoct a reason soon enough to do it all over again - this was a great place and we certainly recommend the villa and the rental company to anyone considering a trip to Como. With Bellagio only 10 minutes away by car, and the towns of Varenna and Tremezzio 15-20 minutes by boat, the villa could not be better situated for exploring the Lake by car or boat. Go and enjoy!!
