“Good but not exceptional”
The villa was a great time. Was there with family for 5 nights and we all enjoyed the time together. The villa is large so we never felt cramped and the 3 BR / 3 Bath was perfect for the 3 couples (I think the one couch pulled out so technically it could sleep more). I've stayed in other villa / multi BR houses prior and this meets all baseline expectations: -Large size -Enough Bath and Beds -Kitchen/cooking items -Good communal areas to get together (outdoor table was our constant location) But there was also some things that kept this from being the best experience i have had in similar situations were: -Musty/damp smell that never aired out - my wife is more sensitive to smell but this really bothered her. I noticed it but it didn't put me off. I understand that if you keep a house, shuttered (no sun) in a humid area, you will get a musty smell but it took away from the experience. -Beds were not comfortable - thin mattress with horrible pillows -Some items were in need of repair - everything worked but loose toilet seat and not super cold fridge makes it less special. The last item was that we weren't that close to the city center. Being up on the hill makes a great view but it was not quite as walkable as marketed to us. There is a path at the bottom of the road that goes down to the hostel and then to the main road. So it's about 15-20 minute walk down to the heart of town. But the walk UP is intense. It's doable but not easy and at night there would be no light to see. We took taxi home most nights but $20 a night for taxi adds up. All in all, i would recommend as there was nothing wrong but with the drawbacks noted your expectations will be better set. I think the cost reflects these facts so the value is still there but if any of those items above a make or break for you then your mileage will vary.
