My wife and I were married in Lake Como, Italy last year. Our wedding planners suggested that we actually do the reception at Villa Leoni. After our wedding ceremony, we took a boat to the villa and had an amazing evening filled with great food, wine all set in the most exquisite location. The views are absolutely breathtaking. Although not quite on the water, the views are even more amazing because the villa is just up a small hill. It is hard to describe just how beautiful the views are from Villa Leoni. You are on the side of a small hill so you are up high enough to be able to take in all the views of the lake, the little island just off shore, the mountains all around you and the little Italian village that is nestled up on the shores of the lake just to your south. It's breathtaking. We stayed at another villa on the lake, and it was nice, but I really wish we would have been able to stay here.
The house is this amazing contemporary home that was designed by a very famous Italian architect in the early 20th century who is known as the father of modern Italian architecture. So it is like stepping back in time when the whole contemporary movement was getting started. The grounds are wonderful for entertaining. You can not go wrong. The home itself is elegant and spacious. Definitely will accommodate a large party. There is a small guest house behind the main home, and it is very, very nice.
