We book this magnificent Villa to celebrate a family reunion.. We wanted something close to Lugano and Lake Como but secluded and intimate that would give us the feeling of living in an Italian village. Villa Castello is located in an old medieval village, without cars (you park in the parking lot, 20 steps from the house). It's right in the middle of the village, yet private and very luxurious-the views are BREATHTAKING! they just go on forever and ever.. We spent lovely times lunching and having late dinners on the gorgeous balcony. From the house one can wander through the village, head out to the waterfall where you can swim! And just meander meditatively.. Lugano was only 20 min away, and we visited Porlezza, Menaggio, Bellaggio (omg sooo beautiful!), we even went to Como and Milan as well as StMoritz for the day, but our favorite time was spent lounging at the villa and cooking up simple Italian meals.. We definitely will be back! My husband and I could have just stayed on forever! Grateful for this gem we found!

The location of Villa Castello is idyllic, high up in the hills of Valsolda overlooking Lake Lugano und surrounded by the mountains. The Villa is beautifully kept, very clean and attention to detail is evident in all areas. We would not hesitate in recommending this place to anyone. The host was very friendly and helpful. We can't wait until we return!

We spent 3 days at Villa Castello. Our family (2 adults and 4 children) had a great and enjoyable time at this villa, where you fill completely free and independent. The property is beautiful, sprawling, well maintained, spread on different levels, including a nice terrace on the ground floor accessed via the little tavern where you find a separate sleeping room, bathroom and living room with kichten. It is suitable for everyone, couples, friends, and big families. Actually there is space up to 10 people. , We found The location of the property on the Italian part of lake Lugano amazing and convenient. It is very close not only to the city of Lugano but it is only 12 km from Menaggio on lake Como from where you can take the ferry to Varenna, Bellaggio, Tremezzo. It can certainly be used as a base for exploring both lakes. Of course to do that a car is essential. The host was very friendly and gave us a lot of information and tips to discover the region. We truly enjoyed our stays in Villa Castello and would gladly recommend it to family and friends.
