“Lake Como Beach Resort”
My wife and I chose Lcbr for our 40th wedding anniversary holiday using reviews on trip advisor and we were not disappointed. Once you turn into the steep drive down to the lift you enter a peaceful, relaxed oasis. We were met and our luggage carried down to our room and during the week Eric was always on hand to give helpful advice. Eric took a real interest in what we were doing and nothing was too much trouble, he really did add to our holiday experience. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Though we had a car we didn't really use it, we tended to jump on the ferries and buses to explore the towns along the lake. After a day out exploring it was just lovely to come back and prepare a meal and eat alfresco and sit enjoying the sunset on the jetty with a glass of wine. Our room has everything you needed and our bedroom which looked out over the lake provided stunning views. The small number of guests, some with families were like minded people and everyone got on famously. All in all a really relaxing place which made out anniversary and very special one. Thank Eric, Robina and Giselle.
“A million dollar view!!!”
We stayed at the Como Beach resort at the end of July 2013. It was great!! We were looking for a quite part of Italy surrounded by hills. It was more when what we had expected such a beautiful surrounding. Eric was a great host, helps in any way he can. Will definitly go back to this place. Loved It. Margot & Ragonda
“Just the place to unwind”
If you're after nightlife this is not the place for you. However, if you want to relax and unwind in beautiful surroundings this is the place to be! We had a wonderful week sunning ourselves, eating, drinking and meeting lovely people. We did not use the car for the entire time, preferring to take the ferry to both Como and Bellagio. All our culinary needs were purchased at the local shop, and meals out eaten at the local restaurant. Eric is a warm, friendly gentleman, as is Mohammed who helps Eric with the smooth running. Thank you for a lovely week.
“A most relaxing place.”
My wife and I recently stayed at the Lake Como Beach Resort for a week and had a relaxing and peaceful stay. the Resort is well positioned and for those who like to plunge in the Lake it has it's own private beach and pier. Eric could not have been a better host and he kindly pointed us in all the right directions with good advice for all sorts of things. The rooms were very well presented and clean. For those who like to sit and enjoy the view the Resort provides magnificent scenery. All in all a wonderful week.
“Home base for our honeymoon”
My wife and I knew we wanted to stay at Lake Como for our honeymoon, but we weren't exactly sure where. Luckily, she found the Lake Como Beach Resort and the trip was wonderful. Eric could not have been a more helpful and friendly host. He was always just a phone call away if we had a question or needed something. His advice most definitely made our stay easier and more relaxing. I have to give him major credit. Our villetta was well kept and had a wonderful view out toward the lake, which you could see from the bed and was amazing to wake up to. There is a lawn area to sit and relax and even some sand up against the lake if you're in a beach mood. The lake was a bit cold for a dip in May (at least for us), but that didn't stop an australian couple who did it anyway! My wife was a huge fan of visiting the grocery in Pognana Lario to pick up meats, cheeses, bread, fruit, and wine. That was our go-to place for snacks. They also had some great fresh pesto, which we ate with some pasta for dinner one night. Honestly, it was a great place to stay and served us well as a hub for visiting the various towns around the lake. The public transport was easy to use, but be aware that the hours of operation were a bit limiting. I think my one piece of advice would be to rent a car. That way you can operate on your own schedule. I would definitely suggest staying at the Lake Como Beach Resort. With all the help from Eric, it's simple and relaxing. Hopefully we'll make it back there ourselves.
“Heaven on earth!”
I stayed in lake como beach resort in Sept 2011. It really exceeded my expectations in so many ways. The views are incredible, no words can do them justice. I can think of no better place to lie and relax in sun. Possible negatives are the large amount of steps down to the villetas, if you have trouble with stairs this should be considered, although an elevator does let you skip a good number of them. Travelling around the lake is no problem at all during the day, but you can find yourself a bit stuck after 6pm (things may have changed since Sept 2011 though). After a certain time the boats and buses stop, and you are forced to take a taxi, which is very costly. Hiring a car should be considered for travelling at night, be careful on this winding roads though :) Eric did come and pick us up from a restuarant one night, which was very good of him. Eric is a great host and will go out of his way to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. My girlfriend had severe toothache one time, and after asking Eric about where to obtain pain killers we returned to our villetta to find Eric had come and left her some. Also hiring a speedboat for about 4 hours one day and cruised up the lake to Mennagio, parked the boat up and hopped off for lunch - great novelty taking a boat to a restuarant. Best food we had was at Salice Blu in Bellagio, chef Luigi picked us up in the town and took us to the restaurant. That man can cook, still the best meal i've ever had - the man may only look about 14 years old, and sounds a little like Borat from that movie, but boy can he cook! I would love to go back to the place some day, great memories that will last a life time :-) (guys out there, it would be a perfect place to propose)
“Top marks”
I've had relaxing holidays or weekends away before, but this place was a mile beyond. The water was clean and refreshing (and not cold, nor like a bath); Eric and Robin (the owners) were friendly and ever-accommodating; and the flat itself was brilliant - split-level, clean, with all the cooking stuff you need, great views from the upstairs balcony, tidy gardens outside your door, a good and strong shower, comfy deckchairs, comfy bed... I could go on. And will. The chap who runs the local pub was friendly and helpful with directions and things like bus timetables, whilst the family who run the little supermarket and the butcher shop across the road from the pub were friendly (and the food was all you'd ever need). We went up and down the lake by ferry a few times (over the week that we stayed), and it struck both of us, repeatedly, that the place to stay was mid-lake, where these villas are. The prettiest bit of the lake, not busy, and only minutes from the ferry stop. The other guests - British, German, Italian, and French - were friendly; a mix of 30-something couples and young families. Never noisy. By day three, or so, we started talking about coming back, and which friends to ask along.
“Classic resort with something extra”
Eric and his team were very helpful, especially with the bags on the steep access to the resort, which made it all the more interesting. Pleasantly secluded with exceptional views of the lake and very comfortable and attractive accommodation
Response from the manager Thank you for your very kind review. We look forward to your return. Ciao from Lake Como! Eric, Robin and Jiselle
“Very enjoyable experience.”
The Lake Como Beach Resort is located on the lakefront so the outlook is beautiful and it is also only a 3 minute very pretty walk to the ferry pier. The apartments are well appointed with an upstairs bedroom and balcony and living/kitchen area downstairs. Each unit has a tight spiral staircase to access the upper story so we would recommend keeping luggage small and light. Eric and his assistant were extremely helpful at check-in time. Access to the resort is via a very steep driveway, an elevator and then a short easy walk. This could prove a bit challenging for the disabled but is easy enough for most people. We enjoyed our visit very much and would love to have another holiday there.
“Es war super!”
Die Wohnung ist sehr schön und man wird herzlich empfangen. Die Gastgeber sind sehr bemüht, den Gästen alles recht zu machen. Besonders prima war der direkte Seezugang. Etwas schwierig war die Zufahrt zum Parkplatz - hier braucht man starke Nerven, denn der abhang ist ziemlich steil.
