“Norman's review of Villa Rezzonico”

Other-worldly! It is hard to imagine a more peaceful, relaxing setting for a large group such as ours. Every detail has been addressed. We were wanting for nothing. The Lake Como area is spectacular in its beauty and the leisure opportunities it offers. The property is absolutely beautiful. The view of the lake from the front of the villa is breathtaking. This is an eight bedroom home but at no time did I ever feel crowded. The living space is well designed and the grounds perfect for a retreat from activity should you desire. I honestly cannot think of any negatives about this property. I loved the fact that the property is secluded enough to guarantee privacy, yet just outside the gates you can immerse yourself totally in the local Northern Italian culture. The locals are beautiful people - friendly and very hospitable.

The Villa was lovely all around. A great location, excellent staff and beautiful weather. We loved it. The bedrooms are very lovely, each with a fantastic bathroom. The views are wonderful. It is on a very busy road so you need to drive a few minutes to find a place to walk. Menaggio and the Lake Como area are beautiful. Lots of places to explore and lots to do. The locals are friendly. The overall "vibe" of the area is very relaxed and focused on taking time out.

Everyone enjoyed it and we would all love to go back. In fact, I didn't want to leave. It's a little north of the more popular tourist areas, such as Mennagio, but we liked that. Almost no other Americans and a wonderful opportunity to get to know the local people. Just say "Buon Giorno" and they could not be friendlier. Where to begin -- we were 17 people and never felt crowded. Lots of privacy and places to go if you wanted to be alone. The grounds are magnificent and immaculately kept as was the villa itself. The property manager could not have been more helpful kind of like our personal concierge and the staff did a wonderful job preparing breakfast each morning and cleaning. The front bedrooms were a little warm, but a small price to pay for the magnificent views of the lake. Lovely restaurants in Rezzonico and Aquaseria; a fantastic winery - a must-go for dinner in Domaso, Sorsasso Vineyards. The food everywhere was fresh and wonderful and the people could not have been nicer. From Mennagio and Canadenobia you can take the ferry to Bellagio and Varenna, 30 minute drive to Lugano and 1 hour and 30 minute drive to St. Moritz. We especially enjoyed hiking. I found a wonderful guide for the more adventurous and boating on the lake.
