“Lovely villa with beautiful views”
Villa Tremezzo was very clean with good sized rooms and comfy beds. The kitchen was well stocked with ample dishes, cutlery, pans etc. The villa also contains a kettle, toaster, microwave, coffee maker, fridge freezer, iron & board and hairdryer. There was loads of extra bedding and towels supplied too. The oven is a little bit slow. There was very good wifi strong enough to support 4/5 items at once. The majority of channels on the satellite TV were showing programmes in Italian. The lower level of the house contains a very large garage with key fob to operate an automatic door and a utility room with a washing machine and 2 clothes airers. Up a flight of stairs is the ground floor with the kitchen/ livingroom. The leather couches are a great size (one is a sofa-bed). There is a small dining table which was a bit of a squeeze for 5 but we ate at the large table outside whenever possible so this wasn't really an issue. Up 3 stairs is the kids bedroom, a double bedroom with patio doors and a lovely family bathroom with shower and bath. Up on the first floor is the huge master suite with a patio (with a stunning view of the lake) and very modern ensuite shower room. It also has a TV. Up a few more stairs is another shower room and a bedroom with twin beds that had been pushed together to make another double. The third TV is in this room. These two rooms are built right into the eaves of the house and while absolutely fine for children I think an adult would struggle. I'm 5'5" and could only just stand upright at the end of the bed and in front of the sink in the shower room. All of the bedrooms contained chest of drawers, bedside tables and wardrobe space stocked with hangers. To the front of the house is a large covered patio with a rectangular table, 6 chairs and a BBQ. There is also another table with 4 chairs. The view here is also beautiful. There's a small patch of grass roughly 4m x 4m. To the rear of the house, up 6 steps is a medium sized pool with 6 sun loungers. The pool was very clean and the kids had a great time in it. Although it is a shared pool we had it to ourselves the whole time we were there. The sun sets behind the house and you lose it at about 7pm in July when it goes behind the mountains. The garden is security entry which I really liked, having small children playing out in it. Location - the villa is situated at the outskirts of Tremezzo up some quite steep, twisty roads. We didn't walk into Tremezzo as I didn't think our 4 year old would have made the walk back. The only place we were able to walk to for dinner was Pizzeria Balognette (best pizza ever!) and it had to be booked a week in advance. A car was absolutely essential. Tremezzo was lovely. Small but scenic and very close to the car and passenger ferry at Cadenabbia. Weather - when we were there the weather was very changeable with a mix of scorching hot days, overcast, rainy and several spectacular lightning storms.
