We stayed at this villa for eight nights in August 2016. Overall, the experience has been great. The house is in excellent condition, very clean, tastefully furnished and well equipped (technical complexity of certain solutions actually go a little overboard, but tech savvy will get a kick out of various options including a Sonos multiroom sound system). All advertised features, from a full-size pool to a professional squash court, function well and allow to entertain a big party. There’s also a small football field and a mini golf course. We travelled as a family of five (two adults and three kids aged 8-13) and utilized only half of available bedrooms. Bathrooms are spacious and high quality and would look appropriate in any five star hotel. However, not all of them are en suite and kids bedrooms share a bathroom. We have a similar arrangement at home, so not a problem for us. The house is located on the outskirts of a small and neat historic town of Carona, about 15 minute drive from the center of Lugano. The road is somewhat windy and narrow at places but after a few trips you get used to it. We as a family enjoy hiking and the location of the house midway on the trail from Monte San Salvatore to Morkote was ideal for us as it allowed to make not too taxing but interesting hikes with kids in both directions. The area is great for riding a bike as well. There are a couple of decent restaurants within a short walking distance and a 50M outdoor pool with diving towers which kids absolutely loved. The owners were very nice and pleasant to deal with. I would say these were by far the most friendly and hospitable hosts we ever encountered renting upscale houses in different places around the world. We were offered assistance and guidance on virtually every aspect of local life, which saved a lot of time and made the trip even more enjoyable.
