“Tranquillity”

Beautiful place, I miss waking up to the glistening como in all her majesty.... We went out of season (by choice ) still plenty to do.... Breathtaking scenery, fabulous walks.... Will be going back!

Response from the owner Thank you, so nice to read. Indeed, the winter season features excellent visibility and often times snow-capped peaks, not to mention fewer crowds.

“Perfect vacation home with perfect surroundings”

I have just returned from a 7 night stay at the Dreamers' House, and all I can say is that I wish I was still there now! We arrived into Linate airport and picked up our hire car (I would definitely recommend hiring a car, there are no supermarkets in walking distance). The drive to Menaggio to pick up the car keys was around 100 minutes, and picking the keys up was very easy (although busy on the roads around it, so difficult to find a parking space). We then drove on to the house and arrived there at around 5pm. The key was a bit tricky in the lock, but once in there was an instant 'wow' factor. The house is absolutely perfect. There are many terraces to choose from to look out over the lake and at the mountains. There are two showers, two toilets (plus one in the mini-casa, but we didn't use this part of the house), so with there being four of us staying at the house for a few days, there was plenty of room for everyone. The living areas were spacious and comfortable, and the kitchen very well equipped (including lots of very nice wine glasses - very important!). Everything was spotless as well. It is true that there is no air conditioning, however there are plenty of fans in the house to keep you cool at night. The weather was very hot while we were there, but luckily there is a breeze that seems to come off the lake. It was lovely to sit and watch an amazing storm on our last day from the comfort and safety of our balcony. The house itself is situated in a very good place. The lakeside path runs along to two villages, one on each side. We definitely recommend you try La Baia restaurant, which was just fantastic, we could not fault it. We also tried Hotel Lumin Pizzeria in San Vito, plus Veranda Cafe and the pizzeria on the front in Pianello del Lario, all of which are worth a visit. We were very pleased to discover that there is a bar right between La Baia and Lumin, called Zeus Bar, that did lovely drinks in a lovely setting, as well as delicious panini at lunchtime, do stop here for a pre or post dinner drink or a spot of light lunch. In summary, I would recommend the Dreamers' House to everyone. It was such value for money, the views are unrivalled, and Corina and Tim were such amazing hosts who were happy to help with any queries I had prior to the trip (no matter how many times I emailed!) and I am starting right this second to save up to visit again. Wonderful.

Response from the owner Dear Liz, thank you so much for your very kind and detailed review of The Dreamers' House. We are so pleased you discovered all the nice restaurants and places to eat and drink right along the lakefront and path, and enjoyed the comfort and beautiful surroundings of the house itself. It is our little spot of paradise which we are happy to share with you again ! Tanti Saluti, Corina and Tim

A belated review but I wanted to post my thanks for such a lovely holiday. Every need was met (with the only exception of no air con which is needed during the night). The lake house was comfortable, clean and had every modern convenience you need. The hosts communication was wonderful and friendly and always got back to me quickly. Upon arrival you can pretty much lock the front door and not open again till you leave. Situated perfectly on the lake shore (in fact the pontoon is situated over the lake), you are able to walk out of the garden, onto the pontoon and then walk the lakeshore. Go right and you can reach a couple of restaurants in less than 5 minutes. You can catch a bus from here into Menaggio. Go left from the house, again follow the shore line and within 15 minutes stroll you have access to more restaurants and shops. Overall, a dream of a holiday was had. Thank you Tim & Corina.

Response from the owner Thank you Alison for such kind words about our property. Very happy you were able to access the lakefront path, which offers so much as you say, if one ever gets bored of the great views and ambiance of the property itself. Do come back and stay again ! T & C

After a two hour drive from airport we arrived at the dreamhouse, due to the time of flight we could not see view so we dropped baggage and opened the bottle of wine left by owners which was lovely and listened to the ducks settling down for the night... The morning after we lifted the shutters to reveal the beauty of Lake Como in all her glory,we then took a walk alongside the lake to take in the breathtaking scenery there are beautiful Italian houses along lake and a beautiful church ( visit the church at night, if your not aware the Italians subtly lite their cemetery 's at night) The Magestic Como is also surrounded by a beautiful mountain range, we drove part way up a few then walked the rest views from top breathtaking and so peaceful... We would advise that you hire a car if only for transportation from & to airport but also to visit the stunning villages around the lake , or just park up and forget about driving for a week or two theres plenty to do around the house if you follow walk just outside back gate which does lead straight onto lake apart from things I have already mentioned the walk also takes you to lovely restaurants bars and shops and this was out of season... Your not far from Swiss boarder, we had a day in St Moritzs just so lovely... Whatever you do whatever your expectations you will not be let down, totally tranquil totally peaceful totally beautiful "Enjoy!"

Response from the owner Thank you Diane for your words and review and for taking great advantage of the lakefront walk which offers so much to the guest. We do highly recommend a car but indeed there is a local bus linking the villages with a schedule suited to local working hours. The scenery in winter is some of the finest in the year due to the great visibility. Hope to see you back at The Dreamers' House ! T&C

“Fantastic location with spectacular views”

The villa has everything you need for a fabulous holiday. The views are breathtaking and there are many attractions within easy reach. Nearby Menaggio is a great base, where you can catch a boat to Como town, and a trip to Fox Town is a must for shoppers.

We stayed for five days and loved the whole thing. The location is fantastic and the views ....spectacular. One can be busy seeing sites or not. This well appointed home has everything you need and the owners are helpful and prompt. This property provided a lovely respite from our trip on the trains through Switzerland and Italy

“Fantastic”

We had a wonderful stay at the Dreamer's House! The house is located not far from beautiful Menaggio. From there, you can take a ferry which will take you everywhere you want on the Lake. From the house, you have an outsanding view on the lake in which you can dive whenever you feel like it. After a 10 minutes walk on your left, you will find a nice café for your moring cappucino, a grocery store and a bakery. After 5 minutes walk on your right, you have two fantastic restaurants on the lake. Everything is very convenient, the house is easy to live in and the owners are extremely nice. I highly recommend this villa in which we had a very warm and sunny week last June.

“Tranquil and Beautiful”

This house is a very special place, firstly the views from all the windows, terraces and outdoor areas are amazing. Secondly, having the lake at the bottom of the garden was incredible, the children swam in it every opportunity they had, fed the ducks and swans and perfected the art rock skimming across the water. The location of the house provided so much for the children to explore and was so relaxing and beautiful the adults could lose hours. Our travel group was two families which included 3 children. The house easily accommodated the seven of us. The house itself is clean, function and well equipped with everything you need. Lake Como is a wonderful place to visit and for us the Dreamer's House made our time in Lake Como even better. We were all sad leave and have every intention of returning. In fact our 10 year daughters are planning to have their 20th birthday at the house, I hope we don't need to wait that long.

“The Dreamers' House is the perfect Lake Como experience.”

My wife and I spent three weeks at the Dreamers' House with our daughter, son-in-law and their three children in July 2013. It was perfect for us in every way. The house is right on the lake at Cremia which allowed us to swim whenever we so desired. Also, there are good beach and cafe/restaurant facilities within walking distance. The accommodation is well planned and thoughfully set up allowing full access to the amazing views over the lake. It was one of the highlights of our ten-week Italian holiday.

“Great House - directly at the Lake!”

Reviewed 18 Jul 2013

It was a wonderful week in this beautiful house, directly at the "magic" Lake Como. Just sitting at the balcony, or downstairs, directly at the seaside, relaxing, reading, looking to what happens at the lake, was simply great! Exotic plants, friendly people, a wonderful atmosphere all around the lake. One day, we rent a motor boat - and drove very fast at the see (this is possible without having a driver license in Italy!) Menaggio is a beautiful town, and there are so many beautiful places to visit around the lake, that you don't have the time to visit them all in one or two weeks. Back in Berlin, this holiday is a resting memory - and the beautiful photos we took help to remember. Maybe we come back one of the next years. If yes, sure we will be again at Dreamer's House!
