PRIVATE BEACH -SWIMMING- LIDO/DOCK - Villa Mare

We arrived to be met by the owner who settled us into the villetta, which was well appointed and comfortable with excellent views over the lake. Our stay was very enjoyable despite the weather which was not normal for that time of year. The staff were very friendly and helpful as was the owner who provides a very personal service. The local facilities in the village were a little limited but the alimentari provided fresh meat, vegetbles and salad together with bread and other provisions and there was a very good local restaurant providing home cooked food, both of which were a short walk away. A great location and one we will return to as 4 days in this resort wasnt enough to explore the area sufficiently. We met some lovely people who were staying there and enjoyed the odd glass of vino with them. Como is worth visit as are the local villages and towns around the lake. You dont need a car as there is a good local bus service but a car does offer more freedom so is recommended. A great stay - more Oro than argento!

We loved our stay at Lake Como Beach Resort in Pognano Lario on Lake Como. Eric, our host was fantastic. He couldn't do enough to help all his guests. We all (24 of us) had the best time in and around Como. Our apartments were well set up, the view was amazing. We had our own pontoon for swimming and boating. The sundeck was just terrific. The ferry went past our front door. We went to Como and Bellagio and all points in between. Local food and wine were also wonderful. Eric and his family and staff were great. So friendly and accommodating. It was the highlight of our 8 week trip. Thanks for everything. I would add photos but I am technicologically challenged.

This is the place to get away from it all. The Lake Como Beach Resort is a hidden gem tucked away in the town of Pognana Lario on Lake Como. The property is right on the lake. The lake view from the bedroom and living area of Villetta Mare is outstanding. We enjoyed shopping at the town's grocery store and using the villetta's kitchen to prepare our breakfasts and a few dinners. The resort's elevated beach and comfortable chaise lounges were perfect for reading and sunbathing, and having a glass of wine at sunset and watching the stars come out at night. The town is accessible by ferry, though the schedule is a bit limiting. We purchased a six-day ferry pass, and tough we didn't have a car, we were able to go everywhere on the lake we wanted to go - Varenna, Bellagio, Como, Villa Carlotta, etc. - with a little planning. The proprietor, Eric, is wonderful, and made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. He offered many great suggestions about restaurants, alternate transportation, and fun things to do around the lake. We highly recommend the Lake Como Beach Resort!

My wife and I stayed for five glorious nites in June 2013. Awesome views, clean and well appointed unit, short walk to the Lake Como ferry stop. Great local restaurant just up the street recommended by the owner. We went twice. Also took advantage of the onsite grills and cooked in twice. There is a great local market on the main road. We will definitely return!

I recently spent 10 nights in Lake Como, staying at the Lake Como Beach Resort. The resort was in a beautiful, quiet location, and a short pleasant ferry or bus ride to towns such as Bellagio. I found it a great location to base myself. There is a shop up on the main road that has pretty much anything you could want (and amazing lasagne!). The resort itself is lovely, with beautiful views and and all the creature comforts you would want. On a personal level, travelling alone, I found the staff there very helpful (even with a language barrier!) and the american owner Eric made me feel right at home, even personally driving me to the train station at the end of my stay, and helping me find the right train platform! I would highly recommend Lcbr if you are looking for a comfortable, affordable, quiet location to explore Lake Como, and of course the gorgeous views!! Hayley South australia

Everything about our stay was fantastic. The thing that stood out the most was that as soon as we entered Lake Como Beach Resort (Lcbr) we were treated like family. As soon as we arrived, Erik and Robin were there to greet us, show us around, and Erik even took us to the local store to get supplies for our villetta. They also made dinner reservations for us at a local restaurant. On our last night Erik made us reservations at Bella Vista (great place) and told them it was our last night. When we arrived the best seat in the house was reserved for us and the chef came out after our meal to talk with us. Erik gave lots of good recommendations and was super friendly and helpful throughout our entire stay. The villetta was clean, well setup, and had a fantastic view. There is a steep spiral staircase going up to the second floor, but this isn't unusual in Europe where space is limited. We loved lounging on the lido deck, diving off the floating dock, and floating around the lake on rafts. It is a great place to relax and enjoy your surroundings. Lcbr is on a ferry stop so you don't necessarily need a car. However, given the limited ferry schedule we wished that we had a rental for the week. The last ferry of the day arrived around 5:45pm which limited going to other towns for dinner unless you wanted to take an expensive taxi ride home. We are already planning our next trip back. I have already recommended Lcbr to friends and coworkers.

We had a wonderful time at Lake Como Beach Resort. It is excrptionally comfortable and set on one of the most picturesque parts of the lake. We took advantage of all of the facilities from the lido, BBQ area and the extensive DVD and book collection when we had some rain. The owners and staff were also friendly and helpful-giving us good advice on what do to-helping us with our BBQ, lending us their kayak-and even driving us back all the way to Como to catch our train to Milan. Their recommendation for the local Merridian restaurant was also spot on and the locals at Peppi's bar were very friendly and helpful! Thanks Eric for a wonderful time!

We would like to congratulate Eric on his wonderful hospitality by collecting us from the train and delivereing us back to the train station. Helping us with the groceries up and down the hill. Erics everyday hospitality check and suggestions of restaurants were wonderful.The villa had superb views, helped by the balmy weather 34 degrees everyday. Swimming and sunbathing on the beach was delightful. Especially as it was 8 degrees back home in australia. We caught the ferries most days and tripped around magnificent Lake Como. Vielen Dank für den herrlichen Urlaub, der uns alle begeistert hat. Service und ausstattung sind exzellent. Die Lage ist direkt am See und traumhaft! Wunderbarer Blick über den See, sehr schöner Garten und Terrasse mit Sitzgelegenheit und Grill. Alles sehr sauber und gepflegt. Was uns besonders gefallen hat ist das Geräusch der anlaufenden Wellen, wodurch man das Gefühl hat, am Meer zu sein, gleichzeitig mit dem Blick auf die grünen Bergen rund um den See. Es gibt einen Schwimmsteg und sehr gute Gelegenheit zum Sonnen auf den Liegestühlen mit Blick auf den See. Die anlage ist auf der Ostseite des Sees und schaut nach Westen, so dass man den ganzen Tag über Sonne hat. Die Vermieter Eric und Robin sind immer sehr sehr hilfsbereit. Wir haben selten erlebt, so wie hier, dass wir im Urlaub waren und wirklich jeder Wunsch erfüllt wurde. Aus diesem Grund werden wir unseren Freunden und Bekannten diese Fehrienwohnungen jederzeit weiterempfehlen . Die Umgebung ist sehr schön. Man kann auf dem Berg hinter dem Haus zum Wandern und mit dem Schiff von der nahen anlegestelle die Städte am See besuchen. Wir haben auch ein Motorboot gemietet, das uns direkt am Steg vor dem Haus abgeholt hat (nochmal Danke, Eric!). Es war insgesamt ein wunderschöner aufenthalt. Die anlage hat 5 Sterne verdient!
