“Great stay close to Annecy”

We spent a week in Sue's lovely house. We were 7 adults and a toddler and we had a very comfortable stay. The bedrooms were large and airy with lots of closet space. You definitely need a car to … More

Response from the owner Thanks for your kind comments and I'm glad you were comfortable at the house and enjoyed exploring the area. For the benefit of future guests it's worth highlighting that even though the house is very close to Annecy centre and the lake, the surrounding area has so much to offer visitors in terms of cycling, hiking and visiting, that it really is worth hiring a car if you are not bringing your own. I would, of course, be delighted to welcome you back for a future trip!

Response from the owner Many thanks for your review and I'm delighted that you all enjoyed yourselves and were comfortable at the house. Thanks for mentioning that a car is really important if you want to make the most of this beautiful area. I'm sorry you had to drive to pick up your breakfasts. In fact (for the benefit of future guests) you don't need to - the "tabac" in the village, a few minutes walk away has a daily delivery of fresh baguettes, croissants, pains au chocolate etc. If you want to be sure of getting everything you want you can always pop in the night before with your order and they will keep your fresh breakfast for you. Something to take advantage of on your next trip, as we hope very much that you'll be back soon!

“Skiing vacation in the heart of the French Alps”

We travelled 9 people. It was plenty room for all guests. It is a big house with spacy rooms. The bedrooms are very cosy and gives you the feeling of being in a little castle. Also kitchen and bathrooms are absolutely perfect. Spent a lot of long evenings around the dining table. For us the location of the house was important. In this house you have the possibilities to ski in hundreds of ski resorts including the big ones as Chamonix, L la clusaz, courmayeur, Le grand bornard and so on. We all was very pleased about the stay and are very thankful for the stay. Would indeed recommend this to big families, friends and other groups.

Response from the owner I'm really pleased you enjoyed some precious "girl time" at our house and particularly that you found the beds so comfortable. For me, an important part of a holiday is being able to sleep well and feel rested, so I'm glad you felt the same way (the fresh mountain air helps too). Thanks for your kind comments about our service, you're welcome! I hope you will come back and stay at La Maison de Proméry again soon.

Response from the owner It's great that you found our house to be comfortable for such a large group, that you had a warm welcome and felt at home. I do recommend that guests have a car because they are then only a 10-15km drive from Annecy lake and town centre and can get out into the Alps easily, but it's good learning for the benefit of other young groups such as yourselves that many car hire companies insist upon your being over 25. We do get a lot of cycling groups and 'Tour de France' amateurs staying, for whom the ride into Annecy is a bit of a warm up, but if you aren't used to it I agree it's more of a work out! It was lovely to be able to welcome such an enthusiastic group of students on your first big trip to Europe and I hope you'll all succeed in your animation film studies and be making great films to show at the Annecy Festival one day!
