Description

Comfortable ski chalet combining rustic alpine charm with modern comforts. There are terraced gardens from which to soak up the views on lazy summer afternoons – and thick stone walls, a sauna, log stoves and feather duvets for those chilly winter evenings. It’s the perfect place to unwind and relax with family or friends after skiing, hiking or biking in the mountains.

The house is built into the hillside under Landry's 17th century church, with woodland at the back and the old village dropping away in front. It is arranged on three levels, with the main living areas on the second floor to make the most of the mountain and village views. The 40m2 sitting room has the original exposed stone wall, a gorgeous crimson wood burning stove, and comfy sofas. Next to it is the large kitchen and dining area with refectory tables and benches, and two sets of glazed doors opening out onto the dining terrace, deck and small garden (not suitable for children due to steep drops).

Each of the 5 ensuite bedrooms has its own character and individual style, but all aim to preserve the feeling of French farmhouse simplicity. There are polished wood floors, designer shower or bathrooms, and large balconies or terraces with views of the nearby mountains, river or village. There's also an optional separate flat in the building (extra charge) with a bedroom (double bed) with WC and shower along the corridor. It has a small sitting room above it with a double sofa bed.
